Inspector Bediako: Hawk this is Charlie Alpha. Over!!!

Hawk: Charlie Alpha one of the suspects in the saloon car is making a move now from the car park. Should we intercept the car at the entrance? Over!!

Inspector Bediako: Hawk stand down, order from above has it that we shouldn’t make any move but rather I want you to trail the occupants of the vehicle to their hideout at a reasonable distance. Over!!

Hawk: Roger that Charlie Alpha, over and out sir!!

Man: Inspector I don’t want us to stay here and give orders only, we are also going to trail the car ourselves. Doctor what car do you use?

Doctor: I use a Toyota Clit Auris XR.

Man: No that is a sophisticated car that came into the system recently, nurse what about you?

Nurse: I am using my boyfriend’s unregistered Jeep Wrangler.

Man: I think the wrangler will be a better choice, nurse we need your car for a very important task. If there is any damage be rest assured that a very new car will be purchased for you. Can I please have the key to your car?

Nurse: But sir, it is my boyfriend’s car and I don’t think he will be happy if anything happens to his car.

Inspector Bediako: My dear it is a matter of national security so please do as my senior man has instructed.

Doctor: Betty please listen to them and comply.

Back at the Airport:

President R. Mensah: Gentlemen would you like to travel with me to Accra so you board a flight back to Addis Ababa?

Karim Diuof: That won’t be necessary your Excellency. I think we can join an Ethiopian Airline flight here looking at the time.

President R. Mensah: Oh that is very okay, I will be in Addis Ababa very soon to report directly to the union on the assignment that was given to us. I will phone the chairman the moment I get to Accra.

Karim Diuof: Okay your Excellency but you also shocked me earlier on when you spoke French with the General because in your resume you never indicated that you speak French.

Jon Okafor: I was astonished myself when I heard those french words and your security detail were no exception to the surprise that came up.

President R. Mensah: Well I speak over 7 foreign languages including the Ibo and Yoruba language. For the Swahili language I read and write so watch out for it one of this days, when I address the summit you will bear me witness to it. Let me leave you go grab a ticket before your flight touches down.

Karim Diouf: Okay your Excellency, it was a pleasure travelling with you and sitting in a meeting with you. I wish all African presidents will be blunt and articulate like you.

President R. Mensah: It was an honour having you in my corner also, have a safe flight to your destination. (exchanges handshake with them then climbs to his plane)

Wing Commander Anokye: (salutes the president) Your are welcome on board sir.

President R. Mensah: Thank you very much commander, please take me home.

Wing Commander: Anokye: With pleasure sir, I am happy I am flying you for the last time before my retirement on Monday God willing.

President R. Mensah: Ah and I am now been informed? Woooow I am grateful for your service to mother Ghana and all the 3 presidents you have safely piloted till now, a medal and promoting awaits you when your sending off ceremony is held.

Wing Commander Anokye: I am very grateful sir. Lieutenant let’s get the bird into the air, the commander in chief is on board which offically makes the bird Eagle 1. Please fasten your seatbelt sir.

President R. Mensah: (brings his phone out and makes a call) Senior Alex what is the situation on ground now?

Man: Mr president currently we are in persuit of a saloon car which is occupied by the members of the gang that abducted your little girl. As I assured you, we are at the helms of affairs and should all go well as planned, by daybreak tomorrow, little Beverlyn will be home with you and the first lady.

President R. Mensah: That sounds good senior Alex, please do everything in your power to get me a positive result.

Man: Certainly my brother, checking on the GPRS I can see you have been in a particular area for long, are you done with your meetings?

President R. Mensah: Yes I just got on board and we are about to go air-bourne heading to Accra.

Man: Okay my brother; I wish you a safe flight back home. I will get in touch with you with any new development that crops up. Bye for now (ends call)

Hawk: Charlie Alpha come in sir. Over!!

Inspector Bediako: Charlie Alpha here, carry on Hawk. Over!!

Hawk: Sir the saloon car just dropped one of the occupants in the car close to the 37 lorry station. Over!!

Inspector Bediako: Hawk go in for the catch and make it a silent and professional sweep, we will be with you soon. Over!!

Hawk: Roger that sir, over and out CharlieAlpha!!

Inspector Bediako: Now to all units, be on a look out for an ash Toyota Yaris saloon car with the registration number GR 442 – 17 driving through the 37-Accra Girls highway. I don’t want anyone to stop the car or do anything that will make the occupants of the car know that they are been followed.

Tango: Charlie Alpha, this is Tango from the bravo swat team. Over!!

Inspector Bediako: Go on Tango from the bravo team. Over!!

Tango: Charlie Alpha, some strange looking men and a lady just entered the hospital and we are suspecting they are in to pick the package from the hospital . Over!!

Man: (takes the walking talker from the inspector) Tango be on the alert by moving close to the hospital building, the moment they come on sight with the package then you go in hard on them but make sure there are no exchange of gunshots at the scene. We need to do this raid on a low key so we don’t raise any false alarm. Over!! (hands the walking talker to the inspector)

Tango: Roger that sir, over and out!!

Inspector Bediako: Zulu team come in. Over!!

Rambo: Rambo from Zulu team, over sir!!

Inspector Bediako: I am sure the strange looking people left the driver they came with in their car. Over!!

Rambo: Yes I can see the driver in the car, Charlie Alpha. Over!!

Inspector Bediako: Keep an eye on him, intercept him with any negative move he makes and make sure there are no casualties. Over!!

Rambo: Roger that Charlie Alpha. Over and out!!

The strange looking people moved to the private male ward, they brought out pistols and then took the lab coat and nurse’s uniform the doctor and nurse who were examining the oldman were wearing then handcuffed them on the bed the oldman was lying on. The oldman was then placed on a wheelchair inside the private room and they pushed him to the car park.

Tango: (gives command) Cobra and Scorpion, I am seeing the package been pushed to your side by 2 people wearing a nurse uniform and lab coat, wait till they pass you before you make any move to apprehend them and be warned for I am sure they might be armed so becareful when you make the move and make sure everything goes as I have instructed. Over!!

Scorpion: I am in position and waiting to make the move when the time is due. Over and out!!

Cobra: I am waiting for those fools to come my way then I make the move. Over!!

Back at the Matron’s End:

Twum Boafo: Sweetheart I am ready, how do I look?

Matron: You look like an FBI agent my dear, I should start getting worried when you step out because the ladies won’t let you be but unfortunately for them and fortunate for me, you are mine and mine only.

Twum Boafo: How good it sounds my sweetheart, I am so glad God brought you into my life. You have made my life worth living and I feel loved every morning when I wake up.

Matron: Please take this water bottle and flashlight, I know you might feel thirsty in the bush. Let me go and drop you as it is getting darker by the second. Please promise me you will be safe and you will come back to me in one piece.

Twum Boafo: What a thoughtful person I have as my partner? If all women were like you, no man will try committing suicide or running mad. I promise you that I will run back into your hands tomorrow morning in one piece.

Matron: I trust you my superman, let us set off.

Meanwhile at the police hospital, the swat team did a solid job and apprehended the suspects who came in for the oldman and rushed them to the CID headquarters for interrogation. Also Detective Akoto together with Inspector Bediako and his swat team raided the house the occupants of the saloon car entered and they were able to rescue the daughter of the president and arrested everyone in that house. He then called the president to inform him about the success of the mission that had taken place.

On Phone

President R. Mensah: Hello senior Alex I hope you have something positive for me?

Man: Certainly Mr president, I want to inform you that your little daughter has been rescued from the hands of those hoodlums.

President R. Mensah: (filled with excitement) Wooooow what a great way to end my day, please let me talk to her senior Alex.

Man: That won’t be a problem Mr president, please hold on as I give the phone to her. My dear, your father is on the phone and he wants to talk to you.

Beverlyn: Hello daddy where are you? I miss you and I want to see you right now.

President R. Mensah: My Angel, I am on my way home from an important meeting I travelled to chair in one of the African countries. How are you doing and I hope those guys didn’t do anything bad to you?

Beverlyn: No they didn’t do anything to me daddy.

President R. Mensah: Sweetheart your uncle who rescued you will take you home to meet mummy and the rest of the people home. I will join you very soon my little sweet pea.

Beverlyn: Okay daddy, I love you and can’t wait to see you.

President R. Mensah: I love you too my priceless jewel. I will see you soon, please let me speak with your uncle.

Beverlyn: Okay daddy, I will give him the phone. Uncle please my dad wants to talk with you.

Man: Reedolf so you see what I told you, I told you not to worry about your daughter.

President R. Mensah: You were very right senior Alex but anyone in my shoes would have done exactly what I and my wife did.

Man: Well you are right my brother, I would have done even more if I were you.

President R. Mensah: Thank you very much senior Alex for everything you have done for me, I don’t know how I can repay you for everything you have been doing for me. Please let me phone my wife and inform her of this wonderful news that just came our way. This calls for a big celebration ooo.

Man: Mmmmm I think calling your wife to inform her is not a bad choice but let us rather take her by surprise as we take Beverlyn home.

President R. Mensah: If you think that is the best option, I am okay with that. I will see you soon as we are in the air and will touch down……….

Man: (hears a loud explosion and the line goes off) Hello!! Hello Mr president!!! Hello!!

Inspector Bediako: Sir is everything alright?

Man: I don’t know my brother, I was talking to the president and all of a sudden I heard this loud explosion and the line went off.

Inspector Bediako: Please have you tried calling him again?

Man: Yes the line is going through but he is not answering his phone.

On Board the Presidential Plane:

President R. Mensah: (screams) Someone should tell me what is going on right now.

Wing Commander Anokye: (comes out from the cockpit) Sir our right engine was just hit by a missile.

President R. Mensah: A missile from where? So because I threatened General Giwah to step down he decided to crush my plane huh? If it is war he wants, war is what he will get. How bad is the damage?

Wing Commander Anokye: Sir I don’t think the General is responsible for that because checking the radius and the coordinates the missile came from, it came from the direction of our country and not Cote D’Ivoire. The right engine is gone and we are now left with the left one, I don’t know if the only engine can carry us to Accra safely but we a try our best.

President R. Mensah: Are you sure of what you just told me?

Wing Commander Anokye: Certainly sir, the missile came in as a drone and before we could detect it, it was already late.

President R. Mensah: So you mean someone from my own country did this to us?

Flt. Lt. Dogbe: (screams from the cockpit) Commander sir, a new missile has been shot at us and it is travelling fast on us. Brace yourself for an impact(the missile lands on the left engine )

Wing Commander Anokye: (runs back to the cockpit) Lieutenant how bad is the impact?

Flt. Lt. Dogbe: Sir the second engine is also gone and we will be crushing very soon.

Wing Commander Anokye: (tries to send a signal to the control room of the airport through his headset) May day!! May day!! This is Flight GH-203256 carrying the president and his entourage, we have just been hit by some missiles and we are going down. I repeat we have been hit by some missiles and we are going down. This is the pilot Wing Commander Anokye, over and out. (puts the plane on auto pilot and runs back to the president)

President R. Mensah: Commander what the hell is going on here?

Wing Commander Anokye: Sir I am sorry to inform you that we have lost both engines and we are due to crush any time soon so please hurry up and enter your emergency exit booth before it is too late.

President R. Mensah: But I can’t leave you guys in here like that, isn’t there anything we can do?

Lt. Col. Akatapori: Unfortunately there is nothing anyone can do right now. Commander Anokye is right, please enter your emergency exit booth so that you are ejected before it is too late sir.

Minister for Foreign Affairs: Can’t we all enter that emergency exit booth?

Wing Commander Anokye: Sorry sir but that emergency exit booth was meant for only one person and that is the president when he is on board.

Lt. Col. Akatapori: Your Excellency please you have to hurry up so that you are ejected from the plane before it is too late. Ghana, Africa and the world needs you in one piece.

President R. Mensah: You shouldn’t have travelled with me today you know?

Lt. Col. Akatapori: Serving you was what I was born to do, my pastor told me 3weeks ago that my death was around the corner and that I was going to die in a plane crush. I wasn’t bothered or scared because it was a prophecy that came from my mother’s pastor even before I was conceived. The time that was given for me to die passed 3years ago so living each day that passed by was a miracle to me. I am glad and privileged that amongst the thousands of military men, you chose me as your personal bodyguard. Thank you very much sir for that opportunity. (salutes the president)

Minister for Foriegn Affairs: (in tears) Thank you very much for allowing me to serve as a cabinet minister in your led government. I know I gave my utmost best and I served in my best ability, tell my children and family that I love them so much. Your Excellency please don’t let our death be in vain, continue the good work you are doing and make sure those behind this attack are dealt with. That will be the only thing that will make out death meaningful and please take care of my family in my absence. (tries to shake the hand of the president but in return the president hugs her)

President R. Mensah: I promise with your life that whoever is behind this attack will face the firing square without a court trial and if it came from the general or anyone else, that person should prepare for war.

Wing Commander Anokye: I was supposed to have retired early this year but as the CDS told me you wanted my service, I signed a 6months contract extension just so I could nurture and mentor the pilot who would come after me. My contract would have ended on Monday so I could finally proceed on my retirement but God had extra plans for me. I stand on behalf of my crew to thank you for the presidential opportunity you gave to us. We were some lucky and fortunate military officers who always had the chance to fly alongside the president of our beloved country. May you live long to see all your enemies bow at your feet.

Flt. Lt. Dogbe: Sir please waste no more time, let us get you into the the exit booth now. We are dropping by the second and any second spent here is crucial, the emergency exit booth requires a certain distance before the parachute on the booth can sh00t well.

Wing Commander Anokye: He is very right your Excellency, please this way. (the president is escorted to the emergency exit booth where he is strapped in his seat)

President R. Mensah: Guys I never anticipated that such a day will come for me or anyone of you to witness a thing like this, I promise by your lives that you are sacrificing today it will not go in vain, your names will be written at a new cenotaph I will erect and your history will personally be written by me and it will be transferred from generation to generation. I will also compensate your families handsomely and give slots to every one of you family anytime there is recruitment.

Sgt. Markwei: (shuts the exit booth door and screams) Presidential salute. (all officers on board salutes the president as he is ejected from the plane)

In the Bush:

Junior: Kwamina can you please escort me so I go and ease myself?

Kwamina: Junior you know it is late and we were adviced not to be walking alone when night falls. Wait so that when it is day break you do it.

Junior: Oh don’t be wicked Kwamina, the thing is coming and I can’t hold it till tomorrow morning.

Kwamina: I am sorry I can’t leave this place this evening, what if we are attacked by a wild animal or I step on a poisonous snake? You are aware we killed 2 big snakes this afternoon, if you say you can’t wait then please call someone else to go with you. I am sorry my friend.

Junior: You call yourself my best friend but can’t assist me when I need your help the most.

Kwamima:Junior in this bush, each one for himself, God for us all. I am sorry my friend.

Junior: (stands up and leaves the others as he talks to himself) Wooooow so I thought Kwamina was my best friend and he will there for me always? He even quoted to me that each one for himself, God for us all. Well I have learnt something new this evening.

Back at the President’s Residence:

Hon. Asantewaa: My daughter so as I have advised, please don’t think and worry much, my granddaughter will be found and brought home safely. I am having that strong urge that she is fine everywhere she is.

First Lady: Thank you so much madam Asantewaa, your advice has well been taken and I will apply it.

Man: Knock!! Knock!! Anyone home?

Beverlyn: Mummy!! Mummy!! I am home. (runs to embrace her mum)

First Lady: I am happy to see you my adorable angel. I hope they didn’t do anything bad or funny to you?

Beverlyn: No mummy, I am fine.

Hon. Asantewaa: You see what I told you about? Detective Akoto well done, you have proven beyond all reasonable doubts that you are indeed a man of your word. Thank you so much for bringing our little girl back home to us in one piece. Inspector Bediako, you also deserve so accolades. You and your men also did a marvellous work from the word go and I will lobby for your promotion when tensions are down but we need the other 3 girls home also.

First Lady: I am also sorry for being rude towards you the previous night, I don’t know what came over me. Please find a place in your heart and forgive me Detective Akoto.

Man: I bear you no grudges madam first lady, anyone in your shoes would have done same so we are good. Please have you heard from Mr president because I have been calling his line but he is not answering it.

First Lady: I last spoke to him about 3hours ago when he was about to leave Sierra Leone but after that, I haven’t heard from him.

Hon. Asantewaa: My dear can you please increase the volume of the television set? There is a breaking news coming in.

News Anchor: Good evening lovely viewers, sorry to interrupt our evening programme to bring you this first hand information we have just picked up. We have just got unconfirmed news that the presidential plane has been hit by some missiles and the plane has crushed somewhere in the Brong Ahafo region. On the telephone is a man whom due to security reasons, we can’t disclose his identity has some news for us, sir if you can hear me, please tell us what your heard.

Caller: Hello good evening and thank you for having me on your television station. I am a transmitter programmer who designs frequencies for tv and radion stations. I was working on a new frequency a short while ago and a signal came in from a plane. The pilot who gave his name as Wing Commander Anokye in a distressed voice was passing information to the control and signal room of the airport that the plane carrying the president and some important personalities has been hit by some missiles.

News Anchor: Sir are you very sure of the news you just passed on because if the news turns up to be false, you put our tv station into jeopardy?

Caller: My dear what do I stand to gain by giving out false information about the first gentleman of the land and his entourage. If you doubt me, I have the audio tape here but I can’t play it on live tv for everyone to listen to the last minute words of the pilot but I can try to send you the audio via whatsapp for you to listen and pass your judgement.

News Anchor: Thank you very much for speaking to us this evening. Well viewers this is an alarming unconfirmed news that came in just this evening. We will follow keenly to get you updates from the appropriate quarters. Also we have picked another news which happens to be positive news that the daughter of the president has been rescued by the police swat team and the abductors are currently in police custody. We will also follow up on that and give you minute details of that pleasant news. Stay tuned for more important news.

First Lady: (in tears) Detective Akoto please tell me the news that just came in is false.

Man: I am as shocked as you are madam first lady but I will make some calls and get back to you. (runs outside)

Hon. Asantewaa: This can’t be true my dear. Let me rush to the office and make some calls and get back to you. Avoid any alarming calls that will make you worried when you are called on phone. Sweetheart you are welcome home. (plants a kiss on Beverlyn’s cheek)

Beverlyn: Mummy what is going on?

First Lady: (plays smart) Nothing my dear, let me go and prepare something for you after that then you go and shower.

Back in the Bush:

Junior sees a bright light coming from the sky and immediately he remembers what his father told him about falling stars and he quickly makes a wish.

Junior: I wish to meet the president of this country one day and tell him that my father is innocent about the crime they said he did at his workplace. Then I want to be famous where everyone will be talking about me positively in Ghana and the world. (shortly after this wish, junior hears a very loud explosion some distance away and out of curiosity he decides to go and check it out)

Twum Boafo: (also hears the explosion from afar and decides to check it out also) Hey what is that and where did this loud explosion come from? Well I will have to hold on with my monitoring exercise and go and check up on the explosion. Maybe some lives might be at stake.

Kofi Donkor: Kwamina did you hear that?

Kwamina: I did Kofi Donkor, where do you think that sound came from?

Kofi Donkor: How would I know when both of us are seated here?

Kwamina: Should we go and check it out?

Yaw Danso: Go and check what? Have you forgotten what we were told before we left the village? I heard junior asking you to go and see him off, you refused to go with him claiming you don’t want to be attacked by a wild animal or even step on a snake but you want to go and check on a sound you don’t know where it is coming from.

Kwamina: And who invited you into our conversation you gossip, let this be the last time you involve yourself in my business or else I will beat you.

Yaw Danso: You will beat who? Say we will fight, we are not in that stage that you use to scare us at first. Now if you throw, I will also throw. If you punch, I will also punch and punch even harder. You think you can intimidate me like you use to do, now things have changed and we are no longer scared of you.

Kwamina: Eeeerh? So now you have the mouth to challenge me when I talk, you will see what I will do to you right now. (rises to attack Yaw Danso)

Kwahu Boamah: (intercepts) Not so fast Kwamina, you know what Yaw Danso said is true so if you want to beat him for saying the truth then unless you do so by passing through me first.

Kwamina: This is not your fight Kwahu, I don’t want to do anything that will bring problems between us but for you Yaw Danso, make sure you don’t even step on my shadow.

Kwahu Boamah: If he does what will you do to him? Any time or day you touch him, you will have me to contend with.

Kwamina: Kwaku Boamah please stay away from me, I don’t want to pick up a fight with you because of the way my father and your father are friends.

Kwaku Boamah: Fortunately for Yaw Danso also, his father is my father’s bosom friend and I promised to protect him. I repeat and get me clear on this, before you can touch him, you will have to go through me.

Junior manages to trace the location the explosion took place and upon arrival, he saw something like a polytank booth with smoke coming out of it. He gets closer and touches the handle and the door of the booth opens, he sees someone sitting in the booth he discovered and out of shock he screamed and fell down as he took some steps back. After some few minutes he gathers courage and approaches the man sitting in the booth. After a careful examination of the man sitting in the booth he is convinced the person is not an alien, he unstrapped the seatbelt that had been strapped on the man and he in no time started coughing.

President R. Mensah: (coughing and talking) Thank you very much for saving me, I would have choked to death if not for your timely intervention.

Junior: Who are you? Are you a form of alien or an angel that has been cast down on earth?

President R. Mensah: I am none of the above my son but hey do you mean you don’t know me? I am the president of this country and what are you doing in this bush all by yourself at this unholy hour?

Junior: Hahahahaha you mean the president who was cast from heaven to earth huh? I don’t know the current president because this place doesn’t have electricity where we can be seeing the president on tv, but I know one thing that the president doesn’t travel alone. Please tell me something else and stop this expensive joke you are saying.

President R. Mensah: Why would I be lying to the gentleman who saved my life a while ago?

Junior: So what proves that you are the president and what were you doing in that thing? Is it an aircraft or what?

President R. Mensah: Mmm that is a brilliant question from a youngman like you. Well first I will show you my identity card then secondly I will tell you what I was doing in that vessel you called an aircraft. Here is my identity card and that thing is an emergency exit booth which was in the presidential plane. The plane in which I was travelling in with my minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and some millitary personnels was shot at and I was put in that exit booth for safe keeping.

Junior: (after looking at the identity card and looking at the sky) Woooow that was a fast one God, I made a wish and in less than 30minutes you delivered.

President R. Mensah: What wish was that if I may ask and again I ask, what are you doing here in this bush all by yourself.

Junior: I and some of my age mates were dispatched into the bush in search of a fawn for the celebration of our village festival. I excused myself from them to ease myself and I saw something like a falling star, I remembered what my father told me about wishes when you see a star falling. I made a wish to meet the president of this country and also to be a famous person in this country.

President R. Mensah: That is interesting but why do to want to meet the president of this country?

Junior: I want to tell him that my father is innocent of the corruption allegations that were thrown at him.

President R. Mensah: Who is your father youngman and what is your name? You sound and act very intelligent.

Junior: My father is Mr Kwame Twum Boafo, the former chief accountant of the ministry of finance and I am Kwame Twum Boafo Junior. Some friends of my father set him up and he was caught in the web.

President R. Mensah: Oh I heard of that scandal, so you mean that intelligent man is your father? But what are you doing here in this remote village?

Junior: All my father’s properties were taken away from him and his account at the bank was frozen, the only choice left for him was to bring his family back to the village where we could get somewhere to stay.

President R. Mensah: I am sorry to hear that but I will see what I can do about that when I get to the city. Can you help me back to the roadside or somewhere that I can get a car back to the city?

Junior: Mmmmm honestly I don’t know the way back to the roadside because we are deep in the forest and it took we the boys 2days to get to where we are camping now. I hope you are ready to walk?

President R. Mensah: I guess I have no choice to choose from so I will comply and when I get tired then we rest. You are now my tour guard in this bush.

Junior: Well that is true, with me you are up there and without me you are down here.

President R. Mensah: Ah I have remembered I have a cell phone in that booth that I can call for my people to trace my location and come for me within some few hours. Let me call senior Akoto.

Junior: Don’t worry yourself Mr president, there is no reception here and the village I live in.

President R. Mensah: Oh that phone can make and receive calls anywhere I find myself in this world. There is a GPRS connection in that phone where my security detail can monitor and track my movement anywhere I go and I have a stable internet connection anywhere I find myself. I will be right back.

Junior: Oh so the people in the city and government can design something like this and they have decided not to think about we the people living in the rural areas? We don’t have electricity, pipe borne water, proper classrooms and no health centre here, it looks like we are not part of this country.

President R. Mensah: (gets the phone but realises the screen is broken) Ah damn!!! The phone screen is broken, I can’t see anything on the phone. (throws the phone away)

Junior: (runs and searches for the phone in the bushes) Don’t do that Mr president, you said your security detail can monitor and track you on this phone so why don’t you keep it on you? Who knows someone might see you moving when the phone is with you and might trace you here.

President R. Mensah: Oh you are very right, you are indeed smart and intelligent. You and your dad don’t deserve to be in the village, I will go with you guys when a rescue team comes for me. I also promise to bring all the social amenities and health facility your people are lacking around here when I get to the city.

Junior: Okay Mr president, my dad has a lot of trust in you so I am also believing in your promises so don’t disappoint me when your people come for you. Also becareful you don’t step on a snake because there are a lot of them around here.

President R. Mensah: (screams and jumps from where he is standing) Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Junior: Why? Is anything the problem?

President R. Mensah: I fear and hate snakes, I don’t want them around me or the place I find myself.

Meanwhile the aviation board confirms receiving the last minute news that came from the president’s pilot and according to them, they couldn’t pick any signal from the plane again so the news of the president and his entourage is true. Per the constitutional demand, the vice president has to be sworn in at the parliament house shortly after the sitting president passes on. That clause is adhered to after some few hours as the sad news broke. The first speech the new president gives takes almost everyone by surprise.

President J. Bugri: A minute of silence for all cherished departed souls. My good citizens of this noble country, God in his infinity wisdom planned this day and we will have to rejoice in it. I call myself the luckiest man on earth because my former boss who was the president gave me the mandate to operate freely as I was the vice president. Some projects he had to personally commision, he gave me the chance to go and commission it, I was into politics long before he came in but under him I learnt a lot of things. Indeed Ghana, Africa and the world at large has lost an icon, mentor, role model, a world class leader and a gem. I declare 21days of mourning and all flying flags will have to fly on a half must. Today happens to be my 60th birthday and I don’t know if it is coincidental for me to ascend the first thrown of this is land, I stand infront you to declare war on General Giwah of Cote D’Ivoire and the entire nation for having the guts to attack my boss and mentor. I will avenge the death of our former president and all those he died with.

Hon. Asantewaa: (talk undertone with the detective) Declare war? Ah this man ascends the thrown and his first order is to declare war in this 21st century. Detective Akoto you are a security expert, do you think that is a good point?

Man: I think that is harsh declaration to make at this time. We first need to probe and investigate if truly the missiles came from Cote D’Ivoire or even if the said General is behind it. We all know what war has done to countries like Liberia, Congo, Rwanda and some African countries, we can’t go to war now in this modern world. I think the best thing to do now is to set a security council this evening and discuss into details this very delicate matter.

Hon. Asantewaa: Will this man listen to me even when I suggest a peaceful talk between the two countries???

Will Ghana go to war with Cote D’Ivoire per the declaration of president J. Bugri?

Can detective Akoto do anything to avert this looming war?

Will president R. Mensah come back on time to clear the mess that is about to be created?

What do you think will happen next?

  1. That guy really has a lot of guts to attack the presidential plane. Now The VP has the nation's treasury at his grip. I wish that President Reedolf will be back on time before James put the country in disarray. More ink bro

  2. I think the writer should do something about the kids speaking very good English, even considering the fact that they are villagers. I don't think kids of their age could speak English like that. Just a suggestion though.
