First Lady: Sergeant please where is my daughter, is she playing outside or what?

Sergeant Ofosuah: Ma’am she was not in the school when my team and I got there.

First Lady: What do you mean by she was not in the school when you and your team got there? For some time now, are you not the person who brings her back from school when she closes from school? Please am not in the mood for any kind jokes this afternoon.

Sergeant Ofosuah: Your Excellency, as funny as this might sound, it is the truth I am telling you. When I got to the school compound, her teacher said a lady dressed in a black suit like me came for her when they close. I tried to interrogate her and she said the lady and some men dressed in the military uniform came for Beverlyn. She further said when the said lady was confronted by her, she said the old team had been moved to a different duty point so her team has taken over. I was further furnished with the information that the said people came to the school with an all black SUV with the presidential emblem on it.

First Lady: I can’t take this news all alone by myself so I will invite my husband to come in and listen to the news you are breaking to me. (picks her phone and calls the president)

Pearl: Hello this is the office of the president, who is on the line and how may I help you?

First Lady: Pearl this is the first lady speaking, I have been calling my husband’s cell phone but he is not answering it. Is he in his office?

Pearl: He is in a close door meeting at the conference room with some delegations from the United Nation madam first lady.

First Lady: Pearl walk into that conference room right now and tell him to call me immediately because there is fire on the mountain.

Pearl: Ma’am please I can only do that only if you give me a clue for my reason to barge into the conference room. I might lose my job if God doesn’t come in. I beg of you to at least give me heads-on so that I would know what to say to him, you know our president is a man of principles.

First Lady: (now in tears) Pearl tell him our daughter has been abducted from her school.

Pearl: (screams) Jesuuuuuus Christ!!! Ma’am I will run into the conference room right now and break the news to him so he calls you immediately. (drops the phone and runs to the conference room)

President R. Mensah: Thank you so much Mr Greenberg for leading your delegation to my peaceful country. My led government is trying all we can to sustain the developmental goals United Nation has set aside for developing countries like mine.

Pearl: (barges in) Your Excellency there is trouble!!!

Mr Greenberg: What is the meaning of this your Excellency.

President R. Mensah: I am so sorry Mr Greenberg, I will handle this. Pearl I hope you have a very tangible reason as to why you barged in on us like that because you can lose you job for this gross misconduct right now?

Pearl: (moves closer to the president) Sir, madam called and she said Beverlyn has been abducted from her school.

President R. Mensah: (screams) Whaaaaaaat? Pearl you don’t mean what you just told me.

Mr Greenberg: Is everything alright your Excellency?

President R. Mensah: I am sorry ladies and gentlemen but this meeting has to be rescheduled to a different day. I have just received news that my daughter has been abducted from her school this afternoon. (rushes out)

Hon. Asantewaa: Pearl who called you to break the news to you?

Pearl: Ma’am I was called by the first lady some minutes ago. She said she had tried calling Mr president severally on his mobile phone but he wasn’t answering so she called the office line.

Hon. Asantewaa: Hey this is serious. Mmmm Mr Greenberg and your delegation, I am so sorry for what just happened here. As you can see, the president just received a very threatening and bad news so I will call for this meeting to be resheduled to a different day.

Mr Greenberg: I do understand madam chief of staff, please let Mr president know that our thoughts and hearts are with him. I will personally call him when the heat and pressure on him comes down, also my team will honour your invitation any day you invite us over to conclude the meeting we started. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality as always. We will head straight to the airport as our private jet is on standby waitinh for us. May God be with you.

Hon. Asantewaa: Thank you so much for your understanding Mr Greenberg, as you rightly said we will conclude this meeting at the right time. Have a safe flight back to your country and our regards to the Secretary General. (exchanges handshake with the delegation members)

President R. Mensah: (on phone) Rhoda what news did you give to Pearl to deliver to me?

First Lady: Reedolf please get my daughter back to me. She is the only thing I have on earth apart from you. We should have listened to her when she said she didn’t want to go to school this morning, now look at what has happened.

President R. Mensah: It is too early to start shifting and apportion blames to anyone, I am on my way to the house right now.

First Lady: Please make sure you come to the house with my little angel. (cuts call)

President R. Mensah: Danny work on the speech we started this morning and email it to my private mail before 6pm. I am rushing to the house to attend to an emergency that requires my attention. Lieutenant Colonel Akatapori let us go to the house right now, I have just been informed that my little girl was abducted from her school this afternoon.

Lt. Col. Akatapori: Jesus Christ of Nazareth!!! Sir please calm down, I know she is fine by now and the security team will find her and bring her back home safe and sound. Corporal Atsu, start the engine and you guys too get the motorbikes moving, we are going straight to the house. (hops into the V8 which zooms off at a top speed)

Hon. Asantewaa: Pearl now tell me into details what the first lady told you?

Pearl: Ma’am as I told you earlier on, the first lady didn’t give me any minute details. She only stressed on the fact that the little girl was abducted from her school this afternoon. I wasn’t in any position to ask or interrogate her.

Hon. Asantewaa: For that you are right, you go back to your duty post and get the acting IGP on the line for me. When you get in touch with him, connect him to my office line. We have to get to the bottom of this nonsense by the close of today.

Pearl: Very well madam, I will do as you have instructed right away.

TV Anchor: Sorry to interrupt the wonderful health show we are telecasting this afternoon. News that we are picking from the ground this afternoon has it that, the daughter of the president has been abducted from her school by unknown people. We are yet to get confirmation from the presidency or from the communication director at the seat of government. Stay glued to our channels both radio and tv for more updates on this very worrisome news that just came in.

Twum Boafo: (talking to himself) Ah so what at all is happening in this country of us? Highway robbery, daylight robbery, money laundering, mobile money scam, money rituals, landguard issues, vigilantism, kidnapping and now the president’s daughter? This security personnels should beef up their security and strategy of doing things if not we will one day wake up to see that Ghana has been sold to aliens. Oh Mr president, God will see you through but on a more serious note, who are the people behind this kidnapping and this bad happenings?

Matron: Sweetheart what is happening here that you are talking to yourself all alone?

Twum Boafo: My dear just a while ago the breaking news that just came in has it that, the president’s daughter has been abducted from her school this afternoon by some unknown people.

Matron: My God!!! What is this country turning into? We are already facing the problem of the 3 kidnapped girls from Takoradi and now the same thing has been channelled to the president and his family. Well this might be a wake-up call for the security agencies especially the police. Honey please let us go to the boutique, the attendant just called me to inform me of the arrival of the order I made for you.

Twum Boafo: Hey that was a quick one, this is what I call swift customer service.

At the Office of Hon. Johnson:

Hon. Johnson: My brother do you have a hand in this abduction?

Hon. Nii Nortey: Ah my brother why would I soil my hand with such a dirty scandal? As you already know, I am now trying to fix my home after I was caught cheating. I believe the best person you should be throwing this question to is Hajia Ramatu. You know she was so bitter about her dismissal and vowed to go to every length just to get revenge served to the president. I took the advice of the party chairman and moved on, the biggest task I have now is to clear my name from the mess I find myself in.

Hon. Johnson: If Hajia has a hand in this abduction then I will be very disappointed in her actions. There are many ways to seek revenge on the president but abducting a 7years old girl is highly unacceptable. Let me call her and listen to what she has to say. I don’t know if she has left the chamber already. (makes a call to Hajia and puts it on loudspeaker)

Hon. Hajia Ramatu: Hello Johnson, I was about to call you and congratulate you for the good job you did.

Hon. Johnson: Congratulate me on what job Hajia?

Hon. Hajia Ramatu: For the abduction of course, I was thinking of what to do to the president that will hurt him very much but you have managed to do something that will send a strong signal to him not for him to mess up with the souls that helped him win his position.

Hon. Johnson: Ah I know nothing about this abduction oooo Hajia, I on the other hand called to ask you why you did that but you are giving me the impression that you know nothing about this whole thing.

Hon. Hajia Ramatu: Johnson, how I wish I had a hand in it, so if you are innocent then could it be Nii Nortey?

Hon. Nii Nortey: (cuts in) Hajia my hands are clean ooo, I don’t have any idea as to the people behind this heinous act. I don’t know why I will engage a small girl in my aggrieved scuffle with the president.

Hon. Johnson: Guys are you thinking in the direction I am thinking?

Hon. Hajia Ramatu: What do you mean Johnson?

Hon. Johnson: Some one at the Presidency opened up to me yesterday night that the contract the vice president awarded to his wife has been terminated by the president. Meanwhile the second lady has already made full payment of the order she placed and I am told the money involved is over a million cedis.

Hon. Hajia Ramatu: Holala!!! Then without a single doubt, the vice president is my prime suspect.

Hon. Nii Nortey: If the vice president is behind the abduction then he hit below the belt this time around. He recently cleared himself on some vigilantism accusation that he was labelled with it, you know that issue prevented him from contesting as the flagbearer of the party during the filing in process? Hajia since he is your body body, you can ask him and I believe he will open up to you.

Hon. Hajia Ramatu: I know how I can fetch information from him so don’t worry. When he is back from the North-East region I will confront him, you know nowadays most of our phones has been tapped into so let’s relax for now. I have ordered my driver to take me to the house of the president before some people read meanings into things I don’t know and have a hand in.

Hon. Johnson: You are right Hajia, we will join you there very soon.

Hon. Hajia Ramatu: Okay my only reliable political twins, don’t keep long in coming. Bye for now (ends call)

Hon. Nii Nortey: Herh if the vice president has a hand in this abduction then I will be disappointed in him and my respect for him will reduce drastically because that little girl is so small to go through that trauma. Jack let us leave to Opana’s house before some foolish people start to point fingers at us.

Hon. Johnson: You are so right my brother.

At the President’s Residence:

First Lady: (runs to meet the president outside) Reedolf please did you come home with our daughter?

President R. Mensah: Honey please calm down, I have spoken with the acting IGP and he has promised that he and his gallant men will not leave any stone unturned. He assured me that security has been beefed up, every corner and ghetto will be ransacked just for the people to be apprehended. He is even on his way here as we are talking now, let us go in.

Lt. Col. Akatapori: (issues command) Guys lock the place down, no one must leave or enter this compound without my authorization and you, get me the head of security right now.

Corporal Atsu: Okay sir.

Back at the Presidency:

Hon. Asantewaa: (on phone) Hello sir, I won’t go the old way that we exchange pleasantries. I am sure by now you have heard of the breaking news and that you and your men have started hitting the ground so you bring the president’s daughter home. Again the 3 Takoradi girls issue shouldn’t be swept under the carpet for you to only concentrate on just the president’s daughter.

Acting IGP: Madam I was in a meeting when his Excellency called me, talking to you right now, I am about

to leave the office to the residence of the president. Meanwhile some men from the CID headquarters and the Intelligence Unit have been dispatched to the girl’s school to start gathering relevant information which will help us get the little girl back home safe.

Hon. Asntewaa: Oh that is good to hear, since you are heading to the house of the president, we will meet there.

Acting IGP: That is okay madam chief of staff, I will see you later and please if by chance you have anybody or group of people in mind who you suspect might have a hand in this unpardonable offence, please don’t hesitate to let us know and I assure you that it will be a topmost secret so far as this matter is concerned.

Later on some media personnels try to troop into the house of the president but security prevented them from getting into the compound. A man tries to come in with his car which a some military men try to stop him.

Military Officer: Excuse me sir but you have to turn back, it is only authorized cars that are allowed to come beyond this point.

Man: Officer I am a long time friend of the president who have come to offer my assistance to the matter that just popped up.

Military Officer: Are you on the visitors log book?

Man: I just told you I am here because of the serious matter on the ground. How do you expect me to be in the visitors log book when I am just driving in?

Military Officer: Is the President aware that you are coming here?

Man: Ah officer so is it that what am saying, you don’t understand or I am speaking in a strange language. Do you think the president will be having time to answer calls when this heat and pressure is on him. My friend let me pass and go start my work inside.

Military Officer: Sir I am trying very hard not to lose my temper over here. As I was saying, without appointment, clearance or authorization from above, no one is allowed to come beyond this point. If you look around, you can see a whole lot of journalist who are here for information purpose, I don’t want you to do anything that will create a scene here. Now turn your car and move before I apply force.

Man: Do you think I am moved with that nonsense that just came out of your mouth? You better behave yourself before I put you in your rightful position.

Military Officer: How dare you speak to me in that manner, this is your last warning. Move your car before I fire into it. (croak his rifle which makes some of the journalist to run for their lives)

Journalist: (screaming) Jesus!! Jesus!! Jesus!! Jesus!! Please save me before a stray bullet hits me, I am too young to die.

Journalist 2: Hey leave me, I am not prepared to die today.

Sergeant Ofosuah: (screams from behind) Stand down officer!! Stand down, you know very well that in public you are not supposed to do such a thing unless it gets to the extreme.

Military Officer: Sarg this man here is pushing me to the extreme, he has bluntly refused to take my simple order.

Sergeant Ofosuah: Don’t worry I will handle it from here, check the barricade over there and make sure no journalist enters without accreditation. Hello sir, this is the private residence of the president and you can only come here via authorization or through appointment, are you on our visitors log book?

Man: No my dear but Reedolf will be glad to see me. He was my junior right from class two to the senior high school. I am here to offer my help pertaining the matter on ground.

Sergeant Ofosuah: Oh okay, but sir there are laid down protocol procedures we follow over here. If you are not having any appointment or authorization card, you can’t be permitted to enter the house and as you said earlier on, how do you mean you are here to offer your help. Are you a journalist or you work with any of the security agencies?

Man: I am a private detective based in the United States of America. I believe you will be doing the president a lot of good if you allow me to see him.

Sergeant Ofosuah: Do you have any identification where I can authenticate it before I grant you passage into the compound?

Man: Oh yes my dear, I was at the airport about to board my flight back to the States when I heard the news. This is my passport, plane ticket, my U.S drivers license and my ID card when I was in the army. On my phone are pictures we took the other time that we met. (gives his phone to her to scroll through)

Sergeant Ofosuah: Okay sir, I will be back soon. Corporal Aziz please man this place for me and keep an eye on this man.

Corporal Aziz: Sir please kindly park you car well for me, you have blocked the road which will prevent authorized cars from coming in or out of this house. I will guide you on that.

Man: I will do that right away, thanks so much.

TV Anchor: Viewers I am back again concerning the news I broke to you a while ago, I promised you our cherished viewer that we will follow this story up and give you up to date information on the news. My colleague Kofi Dumor who is the reporter at the Presidency is on standby at the residence of the president and he will give us first hand information on what is on the ground. Kofi if you can hear me, please take over from here.

Kofi Dumor: Thank you very much Wendy, as you rightly said, I am currently standing infront of the president’s house. When you take a look at my left hand, this place is flooded here by reporters from different media houses who are here to also fetch information for their respective media houses. When you look further behind me, you can also see the presences of armed security officers from the army and the police. If you look opposite me too, you can see Ghanaian citizens and sympathizers from the president’s political party trooping in to show solidarity for the president and his family. As at now, we have not received any news from the police or any communication team member.

TV Anchor: Kofi so have you by chance seen any of the big wigs around?

Kofi Dumor: Wendy as I got here, I picked up information that the acting IGP, chairman of the president’s party , interior minister, chief of staff, speaker of parliment, majority and miniority leaders, some ministers and some members of parliament are already in the house of the president. As you could hear the sound of a siren, that was the chief justice who was just drove in. Wendy, the top men and women who matters most in this country keep driving in. I must say this place is tensed up and if viewers back home will listen to me, it would be better if you stayed in your homes and watch our channel because this place is packed with a rising crowd. I wanted to engage some of the people who have come here to show love to the first family of the land but I have seen the Communication Director coming out of the house to address the press men here. I will try and get the information he has for us after which I will continue with my reportage.

Communications Director: I bring you greetings from the first family of the land. As it has already gone viral and you people know, this afternoon, some unknown people dressed in camouflage went to the school of the president’s daughter pretending they were from national security and gave a made up story that they were the new team dispatched to convey the little girl home. After a little time the original team got to the school and that was when the unfortunate news came up. As at now, we haven’t heard anything from the kidnappers and the police is yet give us any updates but what I can confirm now is that, his Excellency will address the nation at half past 6 at his home so I will entreat you reporters to be calm, accreditation cards will be given to you guys as you show your ID cards as recognised press men to the one in charge. When the president is done addressing the nation, I will meet up with you guys again. Thank you. (walks into the house)

Kofi Dumor: Wendy so this is the new development that has taken place. The communications director at the Presidency just informed us that the president will be addressing the nation at exactly 6:30pm. Meanwhile I will be around trying to pick some informations on the ground from now till the president delivers his nation address.

TV Anchor: Well done Kofi for the minute updates, we will come back before the said time so we can cover any information the president has for the nation and the world at large.

Kofi Dumor: Very well then Wendy, again I will say to our cherished viewers that if they are trying or planning to come here, it is a wrong choice because you won’t be able to come anywhere closer to this place. Every important information you want to hear or see will be shown on your tv screen. I am Kofi Dumor reporting live from the president’s house.

Sergeant Ofosuah: (returns) Please come with me sir, if you are carrying any weapon or recording device I would advice you leave it at the security checkpoint.

Man: I have heard you my dear, thanks for your professionalism.

At the President’s Study:

Sergeant Ofosuah: Sir please your friend Detective Alex Akoto is in.

President R. Mensah: Thank you sergeant, you can leave us now. Ah senior Alex when did you get into the country?

Man: Reedolf I came to Ghana 3weeks ago, I was at the airport about to do my check-in to fly back to the States when I heard the unfortunate news of your daughter. As close as we are, I couldn’t leave the country without coming over to give a helping hand to you and the family.

President R. Mensah: Thank you so much senior Alex, I am glad you came and I know your coming will yield some positive results.

Man: So what information have the police gathered so far and has the kidnappers called to lay their demands out?

President R. Mensah: No my big brother, I have been waiting for such kind of call but none has come in yet.

Man: Okay then please keep your phone very close to you. The call that will come in can give us a clue as to the people who are behind this evil act.

President R. Mensah: Oh forgive my manners gentlemen and ladies, with me in this office are the acting IGP, the Chief of Staff, Defense Minister, Interior Minister, Chief of Defense Staff, National Security boss, my Head of Security Detail and the Chief Investigator leading investigations. Gentlemen and ladies the man you see here is Major retired Alex Akoto, my senior in school and old time friend who has worked with the U.S Marine, CIA and now a private detective.

Acting IGP: (shakes hands with the man) You are welcome and thanks for coming over to assist with investigations.

Man: I am happy to be here myself, I will work assiduously in private as you and your men also do your work but we will exchanging informations as time goes on.

Acting IGP: Your Excellency please the men who were dispatched to your daughter’s school are back with some informations they laid their hands on. On this laptop is a footage of the surveillance tape my men retrieved from the school’s CCTV. We will take a look at it and see if there are any known faces you will see in the video. Inspector Bediako, please take it away from here.

Inspector Bediako: Thank you sir, this clip here has been trimmed by my men as to the time the incident occurred. The full tape is with us as we are going through from what happened there about 2months ago.

Man: (after watching the video) Ah is that all? I was expecting to see the video of the people when the came out of the school compound. Does it mean the school is not having a CCTV at the school’s car park?

Inspector Bediako: They have one there but it seems it had a fault on it so it couldn’t capture anything.

Man: Africans lack maintenance culture, if something is done, no one goes round to be checking periodically on it. Reedolf is there any of the faces you saw that you are familiar with?

President R. Mensah: None that I know of, all the 3 people in there are total strangers to me.

Man: So what has the school authorities and teachers said to the police?

Inspector Bediako: My men are still with them in the school taking down their statement.

Man: That is very good, please take the video to the first lady and let her watch to see if she can also identify anyone in the video. Meanwhile I will get my machine in so that I run a facial detection identification on the people in there. Who knows, one of them might have a criminal record in your database. Sir kindly let one of your boys to bring my car into the compound, I have some machines in there that the public must not see.

Acting IGP: That won’t be a problem, I will let someone do that immediately.

Man: Reedolf when I start with the facial detection identification exercise, we will take a trip to your daughter’s school. You will understand me well when we get there.

President R. Mensah: Since you are the expert here, your opinion counts so let us go. (they move to the hall where the first lady and some close family friends were)

First Lady: (runs to meet the president) My love have you received any news from the kidnappers?

President R. Mensah: Not yet my queen, we are moving to the school to check on some important things there. I will communicate to you anything that comes up.

First Lady: My love please stay with me here, I can’t take it should anything happen to you. Please I need you by my side at this difficult moment.

President R. Mensah: My lady, anything I am doing now is in the interest of our little girl. Don’t worry for I will be back even before my absence is felt. Remember I have a nation address to give in an hour and half time. (plants a kiss on the first lady’s cheek then walks out)

Man: Reedolf we are not going with your entourage even though this is the time to beef up your security, a motorcade and two police cars will be enough.

President R. Mensah: Alex are you sure about that?

Man: You know I don’t compromise with anything relating to security. We don’t need a whole escort team this time around. Sergeant can you please get me my sidearm?

The team made up of the president, inspector, CDS, defense minister, interior minister and the acting IGP move to the school of Beverlyn

At the Tamale Airport:

Regional Commander: Thank you very much your Excellency for completing the new regional headquarters building and a training center. I will see to it that professionalism and discipline is added to our work. As Oliver Twist did, I will ask for more, please my men will need logistics that will help us in delivering our job to perfection.

Vice Prez. J. Bugri: I will communicate your humble request to his Excellency and I know he will give in to your request.

Regional Commander: Thank you very much sir. I knew I could count on this current government when you were voted into power by the good people of Ghana.

Vice Prez. J. Bugri: Commander, you and your men should keep doing us proud and I as the chairman for the police council I will see to it that, you don’t lack anything in order to discharge your duties efficiently. Keep in touch with me often because I have plans for you in the future. I will see you later (the commander salutes him and he climbs into the helicopter waiting for him)

At Beverlyn’s School:

Man: Reedolf I will take a look around and see if I will see anything suspicious or probably someone who saw something.

President R. Mensah: Okay senior Alex, I will be in there talking to the school authorities.

Man: Please be calm and diplomatic when you are dealing with them, this might also be a plot from your opponents or detractors. If you end up saying anything negative, it might tarnish your image. (walks away)

President R. Mensah: So inspector this was the very spot where my daughter stood for the last time before he was abducted by those people?

Inspector Bediako: Precisely so your Excellency.

President R. Mensah: Can I have a word with my daughter’s class teacher? I have a question or two to ask her and please add the security man who was on post too.

Inspector Bediako: I will do as you have instructed sir.

Headmistress: (approaches) You are welcome sir, I know and feel what you and madam are going through now. Please let us go to my office.

President R. Mensah: I wish you knew or felt what you just said madam. Based on your petition the last time I came here, I withdrew all my security details who were stationed here in your school to protect my little girl and the other students here, just after some few days, my girl has been abducted by people we are yet to know their reason for doing that and you stand here to say you know and feel what I and my wife are feeling. Honestly I am disappointed in you and your school and I have lost trust over here so until my daughter is brought to me safe and sound, this school will be shut down.

Headmistress: (goes on her knees) Awwww please your Excellency it hasn’t gotten to this, if you shut the school down, the relevance and credibility of this school that was built years ago will go down and it will never come back to its state again. I and my staff are willing to avail ourselves for any assistance the officers working on this case will need just to bring back our sweet girl. Your Excellency, I am just as worried as you are because this kind of thing has never happened ever since the school was established 22years ago.

President R. Mensah: Madam am sorry to say this but until my daughter is found, you and my girl’s teacher are the number one suspects and you might end up in police custody to assist in investigations.

Headmistress: (still on her knees) Sir my husband is down with stroke and he has a very serious hypertension, if he hears something like this has happened to me, I doubt if he can he survive the shock. I beg you to temper justice with mercy.

Acting IGP: Madam please don’t think for once that Mr president is being wicked or mean to you, in such cases this is how we treat it. I beg of you not to make matters worse over here. You are only going to be in our custody so to help us in our investigation. Who knows, your life might equally be in danger so calm down. I and some psychological experts will talk to your husband so that he understands what we are doing, again I will assure you that you are not under arrest even though you and your staffs are number one suspects.

Inspector Bediako: Your Excellency please Beverlyn’s teacher is seated waiting for you.

President R. Mensah: Good one there, please take me to her right away.

On-board of the Presidential Chopper:

Bodyguard: Sir please I have just picked up information that the daughter of the president has been abducted from her school this afternoon.

Vice Prez. J. Bugri: Whaaaat? Who the hell could commit such a heinous crime like that? What has that little girl done that someone will gather courage and abduct her? So has anyone owned up as the one behind the abduction?

Bodyguard: No please, the information reads that the police and the military have started serious investigations that will lead to the rescue of the innocent girl.

Vice Prez. J. Bugri: I am wondering her the first lady will take this news as this is her only child and they suffered to even get her. Ghana won’t go through this nonsense if I become the president some day. I will make this country so hot that criminals can’t survive even for a day. Captain take me to the airforce base right now, I need to get close to the first family and sympathize with them. My work at the Bono region will take place tomorrow afternoon.

Captain: Roger that sir.

Back the School:

President R. Mensah: Madam so why did you conspire with some people to abduct my little girl?

Teacher: Your Excellency please I can’t do such a thing, I have been boasting to my friends that I am your girl’s teacher so why would I conceive such a silly idea. The last time your wife came here, she gave every teacher 200cedis and when she got to me, she gave me 800cedis which is more than my salary just to motivate me to keep up with my good work. Sir I love your daughter with a passion that I don’t even have words to explain, she equally loves me in return so why would I do anything to hurt or harm her?

President R. Mensah: Then why did you release my daughter to those criminal?

Teacher: Your Excellency how was I to know when the lady who came here was dressed like the second woman who has been picking up your daughter?

Man: (walks in) How do you mean she was dressed like the second woman who has been picking his daughter?

Teacher: Sir she had a pistol and a police badge on her waist, a lapel pin with the coat of arms on her black coat, then an ID card with the inscription office of the president hanging on her neck. She said the team that picks Beverlyn up had been changed due to security reason. How was I to know if she was fake?

Man: I get your point madam, I would have done same if I were to be in your shoes. Your Excellency, madam CDS, mr IGP and ministers, please can we please step out and brainstorm for a minute.

President R. Mensah: (whispers) Senior Alex this is your very first time that you are addressing me with my title and if I may ask, whose side are you now? I don’t get this whole thing going on here.

Man: Of course I am on your side, Reedolf in our line of job you must always think outside the box. You must be at least 3steps ahead of your suspect, if we keep them in our custody and truly they have a hand in the abduction, the culprits will flee for good without leaving any trace behind. With our connections, we can always tap into their phones and listen to their conversations, also we can assign some investigative personnels to them so that the can be trialling their daily activites secretly.

Acting IGP: I think you have hit directly on the nail, I couldn’t have agreed less with you.

Chief of Defence Staff: Yes that is the mafioso tactics, if truly they are behind the abduction, allowing them to go about freely will bring the culprits out from their hiding shell. I will personally assign my special intelligence team to monitor the movement of this 2 women.

Man: Thank you guys for not opposing my suggestion. Reedolf, it is your call, what do you have to say?

President R. Mensah: Senior Alex do I have a choice? I am in the midst of the best 3 security experts I know in the country. To every suggestion you bring up, I am okay with it.

Man: Very well then my brother, when we go inside there you can please release their freedom news to them as madam CDS brings her men in to start work. With my little survey I saw that the opposite house and the next house to the school are having outside CCTV cameras installed so I and the inspector leading the investigation will pay those houses a visit and go through their surveillance tapes, we can get some vital informations from there. Also you have a nation to address so please you can start heading to the house. I and the investigation team will join you in the house soon.

President R. Mensah: I am glad you chose to come to my rescue when you got the news of my little girls abduction. This is the second time you are coming to my rescue ever since I met you.

The president goes back inside and releases the women from their worried minds but stressed that the police will be inviting them over to the CID headquarters when the need be. As they got home the media personnels had been given accreditations to enter the house and fix their cameras for the coverage of the nation address. The vice president and some big wigs had joined those who were already in the house. Some minutes before the nation address, someone calls the president to tell him something very heart wrenching…………..

Nii Nortey, Johnson and Hajia Ramatu have said they know nothing about the abduction, is it the vice president then?

Was it a good thing for the president to cast his hope on the private detective and what he had to say?

Do you still believe the vice president has a hand in the abduction?

Who called the president and what do you think the person had to say to him?
