My Apologies for late updates, its due to some imperative reasons I have many times explained. Adherently when comments aren’t made and many ghost readers reading the story aren’t commenting, I go less motivated and would like to do other things even at my spare time instead of writing the next post.

An oil lamp burn slowly above the placement of the table and its fire waved along the soft breeze reflecting into the room. Two beds were placed side by side at the middle and a big painting board few inches away from the beds.

The four edges of the room contains different vast of flowers and different paintings hung on the sky blue painted walls. A bamboo chair was few meters away from the painting board and another few inches from the only door that led to the room.

A small wall-clock was hung at the left side of the wall and three different sets of big leather boxes besides the only table in the room.

Vivian managed to open her eyes still laying flat on one of the bed as she equally felt an heavy headache, her head hurts badly when she opened her eyes and her legs were so weak.

Her sight was blurry at first when she woke but became clear when she maintained her position, the ceiling which was what she saw first wasn’t painted unlike the walls and there was no ceiling fan hung anywhere.

She took out one of her hands from the blanket that was covering her body just then she felt something amiss, she wasn’t on any cloth except her bra and her pant. She sprang alarmed immediately despite the heavy headache and that was when she scrutinize the whole room, remembering what had happened some hours ago.

The moon light reflecting from the outside through the window signify that the day was still dark and the oil lamp which was the only source of light in the room made the room bright but some part of the room was still dark, especially the edges.

Vivian felt a powerful surge from her head to her toes immediately she scrutinize the room before she saw another bed closely beside her and an unclad man sleeping on it.

She dragged her hands closely to herself in fright as she dragged backwards, she quickly recognized the man as the same man that knocked her off in the Toyota Camry and was more frightened seeing him unclad.

He was fully unclad and the blanket covering his body was half way on his legs, she gasp with extreme fear and hurriedly tried to throw the blanket covering her belly away while her bra covered her brea$t. She shouted with extreme fright and managed to stand on her feet but her legs failed her and she crashed on the table where the oil lamp was placed, the table fell over and the oil lamp went off, thereby the whole room went dark and there was no other lights except the moon light reflecting through the window.

She screamed out loud like a ‘mad Lagos agbero man’

Derrick dropped off the tied logs of firewood he had gathered from the bush immediately he heard a loud sound from the house.

He grabbed his cutlass immediately and hurried towards the door that led into the house, he barged into the room thinking otherwise and raised the cutlass.

Mr. Doss smiled and welcomed his little kid into his arms immediately he dropped down from the car that drove inside his mansion. He touched the little boy’s hair and gladly hug him, he look ahead the balcony of the main entrance and saw his wife and his first son smiling at the way he carried the little boy up.

He squat to the height of the little kid and kissed his cheek.

“I miss you so bad Daddy” he heard the kid flashing his teeth joyfully.

“I miss you more son, how is England?” Mr. Doss asked him and flashed his teeth playfully likewise.

He released the middle button of his suit and carried the little boy thereby stepping away as the halted car he came with moved away.

There was a man walking behind him and he was carrying two separate briefcase, he was suited the same way and he stopped beside Mr. Doss and the little boy.

“England is good and awesome like always Dad” The little kid responded to his father’s question as he was lifted up.

“Yeah son. I’m sure you gonna enjoy your holiday here. Now lets go meet that handsome boy and that beautiful woman over there” Mr. Doss joked and began to walk with his boy just then his phone began to ring.

He took the phone out from his right pocket reluctantly and looked at the screen to check who could be calling him that late in the night.

“Hello” He spoke up after answering the call and confirmed who his caller was.

“Good day sir” Mr. Madison greeted from the other end.

“Yeah. Good day agent”
“I’m sorry for calling this late sir, I…”

“Its okay Madison, you can speak on” he interrupted and a five seconds silence emerged before the caller speaks again.

“Are you aware that Chairman Kim Shun called an impromptu meeting with the board members today?”

“What !! An impromptu what?” Doss exclaimed and stopped walking, his smiling face turned to a frown instantly while his little boy watch from his arm.

“Yes sir. Chairman Kim called on everyone of them with strict instructions that they should drop off any evidence against JC firm or any other targeted investors by you”

Madison added just immediately Mr. Doss made a chuckle. He looked up to see his waiting wife and first son at the entrance and began to walk again as Madison relayed more to him.

The conversation went on for 47 seconds before Doss concluded and end the call, he returned the phone into his pocket just then his little kid ask him what was wrong and what had caused his change of mood, he was very close to the entrance balcony already and his wife stretched her arms for a hug.

Vivian let out another loud scream in fright of the huge man standing at the entrance despite that he tried to stop her from screaming. She held unto the blanket to cover her waist and her exposed body until the huge man fired a lighter and light up the oil lamp that had fell.

“Hey.. Hey.. Hey calm down, calm down. You’re safe, its safe.. Hey.. Hey look at me” She heard the strange man shouts as she scream frightened. She took a look at the second bed where Cyrus was sleeping on, he didn’t make any move nor did he change his sleeping position.

The way he slept seems to her that he was fast asleep or he wasn’t disturbed with her screams as different thought quickly flashes through her mind, she was breathing profusely and her whole body visibly shaking as her eyes scrutinize the whole room again, this time fully with its size.

“Its safe, you’re safe here Vivian” She heard the stranger call her name in a soft and unharmed tone and her breathing pace gradually began to reduce after so 4 minutes.

“You’re safe, you don’t have to scream. Calm down.. Calm down” the stranger added softly and dropped his hand to show he meant no harm after dropping the cutlass immediately he barged into the room.

He watched her took a glance at the naked Cyrus who was on the bed and his eyes follows when she took the uptenth glance at the room.

“He’s unconscious” Vivian heard him announced, pointing to Cyrus.

“Who the hell are you?” She asked frightened.

Kinsflee Hospital.

Mary heaved a deep breath immediately she stepped out of the hospital totally after the automated door opened and closed when she stepped out.

She took out her ringing phone from her purse when she felt the phone vibrate and answered her caller almost immediately inspector Kelvin was displayed on the phone screen.

“Hello inspector” She greeted.

“Good day agent, have you left the hospital?” Inspector Kelvin asked from the other end.

“No I am still at the hospital premises but I’m about to leave”

“What’s the situation over there?”
“I looked into it already, the old man’s condition seemed to have worsened. None of the family members were willing to discuss with anyone and none of them gave me time either but I was able to speak with a lady amongst them who answered few of my questions even though its wasn’t to details”

“What about the doctor’s report?”
“The doctors said he’s suffering from extreme shock and some part of his body system are severely reacting to it”

Mary answered and opened the door of the sport car she came with, she heard the inspector made a sigh and there was a brief silence between them instantly. She entered the driver side of the car and was about to pull her seat belt when the inspector spoke again.

“Okay. I think you need to return back here for a moment, there’s a detective in my office now and you need to meet him right away”

“Detective” !! Mary rephrased as if he needed to repeat his last sentence. She finally pulled the seat belt and kicked the car engine to life.

“Yes. Detective Cougar, I’m sure you might have come across him. He has a very good lead on this case and he’ll be so much helpful to us”

“Okay. I’ll be there with you in 30 minutes” Mary said and the call ended.

Few minutes later.

“My full name is Derrick Joe, I found out your name and everything about you on your phone” Vivian narrowed her face immediately she heard that, she stared at him to let him know she needed more explanation.

“I thought my phone was locked, there is no way anyone can access it” she asked.

“Yes. The security on your device was cool and its a very tight one to hack but I cracked the security up when I needed to find out more information about you. Its took me few hours though but I was able to open it”

Vivian nodded and made a chuckle immediately she heard his response again. She was now seating on one of the bamboo chair in the room and was already on a white t-shirt with a black trouser. The strange man who had explained almost everything about himself was seating close to the bed she was sleeping on earlier and the oil lamp was placed in between them.

“How long have I been here?” Vivian asked another question.

“More than 24 hours ago ma’am. You were both unconscious when I saved the two of you under the bridge”
