#AJ ‘s POV

‘AJ, AJ’ the voice called repeatedly, I felt a tap on my cheek, I opened my eyes and saw my adopted father’s youngest brother, wait! Was I dreaming? ‘Why are you standing here like this sleeping?’ he asked confusedly, I scratched my head sheepishly

‘Nothing’

‘You know I have the gift of reading people’s emotions easily right?’ He asked folding his arms, I sighed, Andrei is his name, he’s indeed have that gift but he can’t easily read me or maybe he can but don’t care enough to ask deeper

‘I’m fine Andrei, really’ I said assuredly, as usual he didn’t press deeper even tho I really wanted him to, I rolled my eyes and walked past him, I can’t believe I thought it was Lucien

Oh well

‘Is Cynthia here with you?’ He asked shyly, I smirked, he have been head over heels for her like since he met her in my office a year ago but he won’t talk

‘She always is’ I said smirkingly, he froze. ‘Oh come on Andrei, you’re still shy?’

‘I’m not shy, I just can’t talk to her, she has a boyfriend’ he said coldly

‘And that’s an excuse?’

‘You know I don’t like taking other people’s property’

‘Cynthia is not an item so watch your mouth and she had a boyfriend, you should have gone to her since and gave her a reason to leave her brute of a man, you should have been a reason’ I sad accusingly

‘Did you just say she had?’ He asked quizzically

‘Oh so that’s the only thing you picked out huh?’ I asked irritably, he smiled widely. ‘Andrei don’t go anywhere close to my friend I’m warning you’ I said babyishly, he chuckled and nodded, we walked back into the hall and his eyes scanned for her. ‘I thought I just warned you?’

‘I’m your uncle, you can’t tell me what to do’ he said firmly, I laughed

‘Really? You’re not even older than Idris’ I said laughingly, he ticked my head smiling

‘Come on Aliyahna, please?’

‘Okay, but only because she likes you too and please try not to mention cats, she hate them for a reason beat known to her’

‘I hate cats too’ he smiled and walked away, I sighed and headed to Lucien who was talking to a man with bulging stomach, is he pregnant?

‘I have better things to invest my money on’ he said coldly, the lady beside him nudged him, he glared at her and she stepped back

‘Mr Eugene please he’s in a bad mood, I apologize on his behalf and plead that you come see him tomorrow’ she said apologetically, he nodded

‘I know, I’ll be there at 15, make sure the entrance is cleared’ Mr big belly said calmly, she nodded and he left

‘What is your problem Anloine? That was rude’ she flared

‘Lydia please don’t start’ he flared back, Lydia….Lydia… Oh! His sister!

‘Don’t start? Did you just say don’t start!’ She whispered yelled. ‘My brother is acting like a total idiot and I shouldn’t start, if you know you can’t bear the pain Lucien why ki*ll yourself by doing it?’ What pain? ‘Lucien you are getting me worried and everyone knows how much I hate stressing myself emotionally so please stop’ she said softly, he sighed

‘I’m sorry’ he apologized sadly

‘Sorry to interrupt your conversation but can I speak to you for a minute sir?’ I asked calmly making my presence known, I was standing beside him, sort of

‘Softie’ he said quizzically, I smiled sweetly

‘The who now?’

‘Lydia can you excuse us for a bit?’ He asked her politely, she scrunched her nose thoughtfully staring at me

‘Who’s this beauty?’ She asked smilingly

‘Aliyahna Jefferson’ I introduced without stretching my hand for a handshake, her eyes lit up

‘Oh my sweet pea! I’ve heard so much about you from this idiot here and Lucy’ she squealed happily, Lucien face palmed himself making me smile. ‘I’m Lydia, immediate younger sister of this goofball’ she said shaking my hand eagerly. ‘Wow! No wonder he used the word ‘goddess’ to describe you, he’s so right, you are more than one, now I know why he can’t sleep without staring at your photographs’ she blabbed, he was looking at her with opened mouth. ‘He talks about you in his sleep and he glued a photo of you on his pillow, he kisses it every morning, my brother is so lucky to have you, he’s madly in l…..’ She muffled the rest words because he covered her mouth tightly

‘Can you be q….aaaaaah!’ He screamed removing his hand, she bit him

‘Run!!!’ Before I could say jack, she pulled my hand and dragged me away with her

‘Lydia!!!!” He screamed miserably, she laughed and I couldn’t help but join her, he didn’t chase us luckily. She kept running with me until we found ourselves on the roof top

‘That was fun’ she laughed

‘Totally’ I agreed

‘If there’s one thing I enjoy, it’s annoying that dummy, did you see how his face turned scarlet, it was priceless’ she said laughingly, I laughed too before placing my hands on the rails which was around the roof

‘It’s peaceful up here’ I said smilingly

‘The perfect thought clearer’ she said confessedly. ‘Do you know why I left Hong Kong to be here?’

‘I don’t think I would know’ I said calmly

‘I don’t like it when my siblings hurt, I don’t like it when they make stupid mistake, I know you are mad at him but he’s only trying to protect you in his own stupid way’ she started calmly

‘From what? Why do I need protection?’

‘From fighting with your sister, he believes your sister is in love with him, he don’t want to hurt her by loving you so he foolishly decided to let you go hurting you as well, he believes it’s better that way’

‘That’s very kind of him, I’ve been trying so hard to believe that he don’t love Sandy’

‘He doesn’t but you know he’s the kind of person that puts others feeling before his, he loves her, yes but not that way, he’s unknowingly hurting you more than he thinks’ she said calmly looking at the streets, how did she know so much? ‘Sardonyx doesn’t love him, she’s the type of girl that easily confuse like, lust or even crush for love, she admires his kindness, hospitality, good heart and looks, she’s fascinated by the fact that someone with such charms, with such money and power can be so generous and a one lady man her mind have convince her that she’s in love with him knowing fully well that if she dates him, he will never hurt her like the others, all this is a push from desperation and too much heartbreaks’ she said softly, she smiled. ‘I know what you are thinking, I don’t know her, I don’t need to before I can tell, what you share with my brother is simply love at first sight, there are some relationship you know you can never leave, the one you feel right in your heart that it’s real, that this person is my soulmate, others can feel it, even a baby can’ she stopped and stared at me. ‘I know you are confuse, everything is complicated but trust me when I tell you this, Lucien is meant for you, if you let him go neither of you will ever be able to get over the guilt and regret, mostly him, he will regret it for eternity and the love will never go away’

‘You don’t know that’ I said shakily

‘You know I do, Lucien can’t let go, neither can you, Sardonyx will find her real love she just needs to exercise patient and focus on herself, she have to stop being so desperate in other for fate to start her work on her, take this from someone who have been in and out of twenty ruined relationships, it hurts, I know but she just need to know when to let go, I wish I can say this to her, I will advice you not to stop loving him, if he decides to make her happy by choosing her, the relationship won’t last more than a month, mark my words

Just decide on what you really what and the rest will be clear to you, it was nice meeting you Softie’ she is d winkingly and cat walked away proudly
