MY HEART DESIRE.

Episode 9.

The revelation was too much for such that by the time she had processed it all her head was literally spinning. She pitied herself because she automatically knew that if Sarah had told her this then it was as well meant the end for her. She also wondered what Dan was going through at that time, she could not help but pity him more if Sarah was that possessed with him.

Pangs of hunger hit her as her stomach kept growling, she wished she had taken more seriousness on the food she was offered earlier.

On the other hand Sarah walked briskly around the den they were in. She seemingly felt a deep satisfaction for what she had done. It was just a matter of days before Dan forgets about that bas***d, she thought and smiled to herself. She did a little dance and calculated the number of days left before she eliminated Lucy. She had her right hand man to do the dirty work for her as blood on her hands was the last thing she wanted.

Oblivious of the screams and stares from the pedestrians and motorists the neatly and expensively dressed woman wandered off to the middle of the road lost in her world of thoughts.

Some thought she had a death wish or was insane but her mode of dressing indicated otherwise. Not less than a minute later a blood cuddling scream pierces the air followed by the screeching of tyres. Wails,screams rent the air as the crowd stares at the horror before them.

Dan came down from the car panic stricken with one prayer in mind, that the woman he knocked down be well. The woman was lying unconsciously in the middle of the road groaning in intense pain. He carried her hurriedly to the car’s backseat afraid that the crowd would get agitated and lynch him.

Hope Level 5 Hospital.

Dan had planned to drop the victim at the hospital pay the bills and hurry off and drop to check her later but he was in for total frustration. The doctors insisted he stay there because the woman had nothing on her to reach her people.

He paced the corridors of the neat hospital with numerous things on his head it was making him sick. He hated the smell of hospitals but then he had no choice. Lucy was missing, as if that was not enough, he knocks a woman on the road not to mention the strange deep connection he felt to the woman. He was loosing it and thought that rest was the best remedy but he wanted to be sure the woman was out of danger.

His discussion with the governor had yielded no results adding more to his already overflowing plate.

On Tunde’s side, he figured that should Dan help him find Lucy then he would automatically be obliged to give her hand in marriage to him and that was the last thing he wanted. He had quickly dismissed Dan but kept tabs on him because he felt the young man was intelligent and would figure a way out.  But should he find a way then his thugs would take over. Time was running out and the election date was also drawing closer.

Blood oozed from her mouth as she stared weakly at her torturer. She had overheard Sarah’s evil plan of torturing her to a painful end. 10 minutes ago she had been in the room laughing like a maniac at every kick or slap that she received.

She was in pain but no pain surpassed the pain in her heart knowing if anything happened to her then Dan would be in great danger with this woman. She loved Dan and that was why she stayed strong for him than leave him with this insane woman.

The thought of her Dan with another woman or Sarah kept his soul burning and the desire to pull through this even stronger.  “Dan, no one will take you from me,” she muttered under her breathe.

Dan’s soul was not at rest as he sat in the minibar in his house pondering on what was going on. He poured himself a glass of wine and sipped slowly.

At least the woman he had knocked down was out of I.C.U although still in a critical condition, it seriously ached his heart for reasons he could not explain. His “heart desire” was missing and he had no idea of what to do.

As he lifted the glass to his mouth he suddenly remembered something, “Sarah,”  she had been acting weirdly around Lucy now Sarah was nowhere to be seen his fiancee to was nowhere to be found. “Aaah,uhm” he saw the missing link.
