“Good morning Sir, please what can I do for you?” Noah asked with a lot of humility in his voice. “I am good son. I came to see your friend, Charles. Is he around?” Bishop Jake asked. “Yes Sir, you can come in. I will call him for you.” Noah said as he swung the door open to make way for Bishop Jake to enter the room.

Noah offered Bishop Jake a seat and dashed into the room to call Charles. “Charles… Charles… You have a visitor.” Noah shouted as he approached Charles. “Visitor? I don’t think I was expecting any visitor.” Charles said with a puzzled face. “Bishop Jakes is here to see you.” Noah finally blurted out. “Are you sure of what you are saying, Noah? Why would Bishop Jake come and visit me?” Charles asked. “What sort of question is that? How do you expect me to answer that? The man is waiting for you. Better go and see him and stop asking me questions you know yourself I can’t provide the answers.” With that, Charles left Noah and headed to where Bishop Jakes was sitting. He was wondering in his mind what the visit would be about.

“Good morning Sir.” Charles greeted Bishop Jakes when he got to him. “Good morning son. Please have a seat beside me.” Bishop Jakes said as he pulled a chair near him for Charles to sit on. “I am worried son. I have heard rumors of you standing beside the roads and talking to yourself like a madman. Are the rumors true?” Bishop Jakes asked, looking very concerned. “Yes Sir. I am perfect in my state of mind. I was just being moved by the Spirit.” Charles answered.

Bishop Jakes wasn’t satisfied with the kind of answer Charles gave. He took out his phone and called his personal doctor to come to him at once. In thirty minutes, the doctor was at Noah’s house. Bishop Jakes asked the doctor to examine Charles to see if he was sane. The doctor did all his examinations, and finally concluded Charles was suffering from “religious mania”. With that Bishop Jakes advised Charles and left still worried about the young man. Though people didn’t understand Charles’ methods, the spiritual power he portrayed was unmistakable.

Charles as usual went for a midweek service. He got to the church very early even before Noah arrived. The minister in charge to lead prayers had suffered from malaria and therefore couldn’t make it. They needed to appoint someone immediately to lead the prayers. From the few people present, Charles was chosen to lead prayers for that evening. Until that evening, Charles never recognized the kind of spiritual authority he possessed. He mounted the pulpit and begun the prayers. Soon, the Spirit took over and the power of God swept over the congregation like a wave of wind. The people’s hearts were melted within them at the power exhibited in Charles’ prayer. People began to cry out to God and desiring more of Him. The midweek service soon became a prayer service. Most people didn’t realize they had exceeded their normal time. They had spent additional four hours under the anointing and didn’t even know.

After the service, the minister was so perplexed by the power exhibited through Charles’s prayer that he approached him and advised him to consider full-time ministry. “Pastor, I haven’t thought about going into full-time ministry. Anyway, I will pray about it and get back to you.” Charles answered and left for the house.

Although he was tired, the desire to pray overwhelmed the feeling of weariness. He closed his door and begun to pray when he got to the house. He was surprised at what happened at the meeting. He prayed to God concerning what his pastor said. All of a sudden, there was peace in his heart about giving himself wholly to God. The desire to work for God became more intense. He then knew at that moment he was called to full-time ministry.

He quickly got up from bed the next day. He had his quiet time, freshened up and set out to his pastor’s house. He wanted to go and tell him he considered full-time ministry. He wanted to tell him he will answer the call on his life. He knocked on the door of his pastor’s house. The Pastor’s wife came out to see who was at the door. “Hello, Charles. What a pleasant surprise. That was a powerful ministration yesterday. Please, forgive my manners, what can we do for you?” The pastor’s wife asked. “I am here to have a word with Pastor. Can you please call him for me?” Charles said. “Sit right here, I will call him for you.” The pastor’s wife said as she asked Charles to sit on the sofa.

The Pastor was very happy to see Charles in his house that morning. “Have you thought and prayed about our discussion yesterday?” The Pastor asked impatiently. “Yes Pastor, I have. I want to be in the full-time ministry.” Charles said to the excitement of the pastor. “That is what I am talking about! You will be preaching twice at all twelve affiliate churches from tomorrow. So prepare son.” Said the pastor. After some advice from the pastor, Charles left the pastor’s house and went home to pray more and meditate on the word of God.

Charles started preaching the next day. His message was met with great approval as many repented and turned to God. People wept during his services. They cried out to God from the deepest part in their hearts. They hadn’t seen such a manifestation of power before and wondered what the secret of the young man was. A friend was bold enough to approach Charles on one occasion. “Charles, can you tell me what your secret is?” he asked. Charles smiled, paused for a moment and answered, “My heavenly secret is ‘ask and it shall be given unto you. Practice entire, definite faith in God’s promise of the Spirit.’”

During this period, he continued to seek God with all his heart. He had such a communion with the Spirit that his bed shook anytime he had an encounter. After one of such encounters, he was always awakened every night at 1:00am to be taken into divine fellowship. He would pray for four hours, fall back to sleep at 5:00am for another four hours, then prayed from 9:00am until 12 noon. In one of such experiences he called Noah. “Noah, I have prayed that the Lord will baptize you and me with the Holy Spirit.” He was dying to encounter more experiences with the Holy Spirit

.

As the days went by, Charles knew in his heart that God had planned a great revival for the Church. While preaching in one of his services, he said, “I have reached out my hand and touched the flame. I am burning and waiting for a sign.”
