Tears Of A Widow

By Kingsley Godstime

All my life, I’ve lived in melancholy
ever when death in his deceptive way
took you for shopping under six feet.
I then learnt to hide my sadness
with a smiling mask given to me by mummy.
Never have I felt any iota of love
the type you showed me.
Your soothing words I hear no more
those times you said all will be well
when on our old squeaky bed.
Why didn’t you wait to fulfill those promises
you said you will take me on tour for autumn
and never let me suffer an atom
Death has turned me a daylight widow
like a lizard lurking around that dilapidated window…
