The Night

 By Kingsley Godstime
.
When the sun and cool breeze are gradually fading
When the thick clouds starts struggling amongst themselves
Saying to themselves “wait let me go first” and another “let me go first”
It is just a matter of time before the sky reveals its ugly face
.
Soon the wind started whistling in my ear
What a sad night
I tried to keep at bay my fears
Even in the lonely night
.
Not long there was a long watery strokes from the sky
I need no soothsayer to tell me that it is rain
People started running helter skelter for cover
Oh oh, how I wish I was at home
.
How I wish I was at home
Doing justice to my bed which has a special way of enticement
But if only wishes were horses
I will be the first to ride
.
The unfriendly cold is overwhelming my mild skin
I can pass out anytime soon
If only there’s a good Samaritan out there
Who could take me home soon.
