Talking Pen

By Afolabi Kayode

when the bone of my voice choke my throat
when words are too heavy to be uttered
when I can’t say what I want
I talk to my pen
.
when my heart is soaked
and on my tongeue words taste bitter
when all my effort is but a stutter
I talk to my pen
.
when I can’t find the right words
to make right of my heart desire
when words can only douse my fire
I talk to my pen
.
my worry it alleviates
from our friendship it won’t deviate
to my jabbering it always listen
thats why I talk to my pen
.
to it I bare my heart
it illumunates my sight
and help me remain in the light
when for word i thirst
I talk to my pen
