New Year Desires (Must Read!)
By Kingsley Godstime
The year is running to an end
All my desires I nearly apprehend
All my expectations I never see
But the new year shall be for my dreams
This year caused me pains and tears
Of which my lips are not brave to tell
I’m marching my feet upon this fear
Which will massacre my ugly mares
I want inflation to decrease
And deflation, increase
In which a bag of rice will be sold for a thousand naira
And beans, five hundred naira
I want my admission status to read “admitted”
Into any university of my choice
And my name in the merit list
In the choice of my course
I pray the new year brings joy to Individual homes
Who never thought they can have an atom of it
And happiness to the family
Who never had an iota of it
I wish the same
Nice
