‘Stacy, I hope you haven’t left my company attending to personal issues.’ Kate asked immediately Stacy picked up her call.

‘Mrs. Glover, I’m at wor..k at this very mom..ent.’ She was about to continue stammering when Kate interrupted.

‘Stacy that’s fine, you don’t need to defend yourself that much. I was just pulling your legs.’

‘Okay.’

‘Meet me at your Dad’s place.’

‘Alright, I would be there soon.’

‘Also, I hope you still have Andy’s address and I know you are smart Stacy, to do all these without keeping something to collaborate your allegations.’

‘Yes, I have.’ Stacy instantly said before Kate could even land. ‘But i would be implicating myself too Miss.’ She said sadly.

‘That’s a good thing, right?’

‘Yes, it’s a good thing.’ She replied so she wouldn’t have to drag it too much with Kate.

Kate didn’t understand why she honestly gave her an answer she wished Stacy hadn’t mentioned.

‘Don’t you think you should pay for your wrong doings as well.’ Kate retorted to get her change her earlier impression. Anyways get it and come over to your Dad’s end.’

‘Alright Miss.’

‘And hand over today’s work load to the sales department.’

‘Done already Miss.’ She replied with a weak tone.

‘And you can call me Kate.’ Kate hanged up, after she realized both Matt’s and Nectar’s gaze were widely on her.

‘What are you two staring at?’ She asked looking through the contacts on her phone.

‘Kate do you really have to drive all the way to your moms in this condition.’ Matt’s said and Nectar looked unconcerned.

‘Yes, I have to Matt’s.’

‘And Nectar why are you silence on this issue?’

‘Huh!’ He exclaimed.

‘Really, were you even listening to your wife? i just said your wife doesn’t look good and you reply Huh!’ Matts said concerned

‘Matilda, Kate can make her own decisions now besides she’s just going three blocks away from here and Stacy can equally drive.’ He defended his silence earlier.

‘Your attitudes for the past three days have been weird. Is there something going on that I’m not aware of.’ Matt’s asked waiting for a response.

‘Madam know it all, we are fine.’ Nectar grinned. ‘Kate are we not fine?’ Nectar asked sarcastically.

Kate just stared at him and shook her head. She caught him last night ransacking through her medications. He made an excuse of needing ibuprofen for his head when he knew that wasn’t part of her medications. Kate was wondering what he was trying to find and if Sly had told him something. Kate kept thinking until Matt’s interrupted.

‘Since none of you want to fill me in then I’m done with that contract you asked me to get for Stacy. And you should know whatever mess she was in and with the evidence she’s got, not even this contract can save her from jail time.’

‘What does that mean Matt’s?’

‘The laws in this country doesn’t work that way.’ Matt’s said and tapped her on the back.

‘Matt’s you think I don’t know that? But I’m helpless now and she has been in my life from day one which I hardly noticed. If I had pursued this from the beginning I could have saved her.’ Kate lamented.

‘This tear won’t help you, I promise to work on something, maybe get her out early.’ Matt’s said consoling her friend.

‘On what basis Matilda. The girl nearly killed me, why not allow nature runs its course.’ Nectar shot back.

‘As if you haven’t killed anyone yourself.’ Kate shot back regretting she even opened her mouth.

Just then the bell rang. Matt’s just stared at the two couples and walked away to get the door letting Stacy in.

‘Stacy did you fly? And I asked you to meet me at your Dad’s, what are you doing here in my house.’ Kate asked Stacy when she was ushered in.

‘No Miss, I was already on my way with the contract we talked about when you called, so I just decided to come here instead.’ She revealed.

‘Why is that? You can’t take simple instructions anymore? And you lied about being at work.’ Kate murmured with a high tone.

‘I’m sorry Miss, i just thought to drop this so we could go together.’ Stacy said feeling so embarrassed.

Kate took a deep breath.

‘Stacy, I’m not sure I need that anymore and where is the evidence we spoke about.’ Kate asked trying so hard not to sound rude to her sister.

‘Here it is and I’m sorry.’ Stacy brought out the envelope from her bag.

‘Matt’s take that and see how best we can work around it. And you,’ she said pointing to Stacy, ‘wait for me in your car because you are driving.’ Kate said and walked upstairs while Stacy walked out.

‘Nectar, what’s going on between you two, I’m fed up with your fights already. I need to move out soon so whatever it is get it sorted before I get out.’ Matt’s said glancing through the documents in her hand while waiting for a response then Kate interrupted.

‘Find anything good in that envelope yet which can solve our case?’ Kate asked Matts who was still holding the evidence Stacy brought along with her. She stared at Nectar rolling her eyes finally.

‘Yeah, I think she called and sent you several messages during the car accident. You remember I brought your phone with a private number ID.’ Matt’s revealed.

‘That was Stacy?’ Both Nectar and Kate blurted out and looked to each other’s direction confused.

“Yeah.” Matt’s responded looking at them weirdly. And it’s good so i would work around it.’

‘Okay I will hit you up when I’m back then.’ Kate said and walked out of the door while Nectar walked back to his room.

‘I’m glad you are back home Catherine, don’t leave me again.’

‘All will depend on how you treat me.’

‘Okay but I can’t promise not to snap at you any time soon and I can’t certainly say I’m in love with you now but I’m sure of the fact that you love me in your own way despite my horrible attitude towards you all these years.’ Wilson said caressing her hair.

Catherine who had her head rested on his broad chest couldn’t stop grinning.

‘Wilson, I don’t need you to love me now so let time work it out. I just need one favor and I’m okay.’

‘Catherine, anything for you.’

‘Are you sure you would do as i say?’

‘Yeah, I’ve been so focused on my hatred for what Claudia involved me in that I refused to see what an angel I had in here every night sleeping opposite me and how lonely she might have felt all these years.’

‘We don’t need to visit the past.’

‘Catherine, i angrily force myself on you. Who does that?’ He said rather calmly while Catherine shed tears.

He had no idea she was teary until he felt his chest wet.

‘Hey don’t cry, I’m sorry.’ He said beautifully.

‘Wilson, I’m not crying because of the hurts you’ve caused me.’

‘Okay, that’s a relief! The guilt is enough to grant me a peaceful passage, at least I know somehow you’ll manage the pain with me in my last moments.’

‘Wilson will you stop it already.’ Catherine said raising her head off his shoulders. ‘You are not dying because we will get a donor as your name is still on the list.’ She said trying to be strong.

She knew that was part of the reasons she never left him. Catherine wanted to keep her promise to Claudia when she asked her to take good care of him.

‘No Catherine, you don’t understand.’

‘Help me understand then.’

‘I took my name off the list last year when the doctor said i needed two kidneys now.’

‘You did what?’ Catherine blurted out.

‘There’s no point holding on to the impossible besides who would want to give out two of their kidneys without losing their lives besides Doctor Juanz wasn’t sure I would even survive it in the end.’ Wilson said trying not to make her cry.

‘So you just want to die. Who should take care of your children then.’ She asked emotionally.

‘You will Catherine, besides Kate is already grown into a woman. She has her own family.’ He responded weakly.

‘You think that daughter of yours is anywhere near mature and Wilson you have another one, allow me help you make it up to your children.’ Catherine said staring him in the eyes.

‘Stacy,’ I’m sure i have hope of gaining her trust, but that Kate of yours, I don’t know Catherine because she keeps embarrassing me all the time and you know what I deserve it.’ Wilson said focusing on the shadow at the door.

‘Mom, so you keep gracing the bed of the one man that has hurt you so much.’ Kate said and startled both her mom and dad who quickly located their attires on the floor as if they were caught cheating on their partners.

‘Kate, what’s wrong with your manners today. You always knock, so what happened to today.’

She noticed how furious her mom was and her face she feigned a sadness.

‘Mom, I’m….. ‘ She was about to say when Catherine yelled.

‘Don’t mom me and get out before I lose it.’ Catherine yelled. She was angry but more of her anger was because Wilson had refused help earlier.

‘It’s okay Catherine, take it easy on her.’ Wilson rather said to surprise Kate.

‘Father of the year.’ Kate murmured to herself and walked out sadly without looking back and met Stacy still standing in the hall, the same position she was before Kate run up to call her mom.

‘Are you still standing? Get yourself settled.’ Kate was talking to Stacy when she heard footsteps behind her.

‘Kate, sorry about your mom up there.’ She heard her Dad say behind her.

She just paused for a while, tried to talk back but remembered where she was standing was on the same stairs her Dad slapped her from behind some few years back for running her mouth. She certainly didn’t want a repeat of that slap so she frowned and walked briskly to Stacy.

Wilson sat opposite both daughters and kept staring, while Stacy fidgeted with her hands. Kate was just looking into her father’s eyes.

‘Why is he staring so innocently?’ Kate said and hissed.

‘Kate are you okay?’ Wilson finally had to ask.

‘What do you care Dad?’ Kate retorted back.

‘Because you look the same way Claudia did in her last moments.’ Wilson said worriedly.

‘Well, good thing I’m not Claudia and besides what do you expect when you marry me off like some cheap thing. I think about it sometimes I still don’t get it Dad!’

‘I’m sorry Kate, I just wanted you to be away from me so you wouldn’t have to remember.’

‘You hate yourself for trying to rape me and shouldn’t that even be the more reason why you should pamper me and not marry me off to a man who couldn’t even keep his matrimonial home devoid of….. ‘Kate was about to continue when Wilson nearly yelled.

‘What are you saying? Did nectar hurt you?’ He said in a rather high-pitched tone which startled Stacy and her eyes wide open.

‘I knew it, that calm Dad trying to defend me earlier from my mom was just a face you were putting on. Finally, you have given yourself up.’ She turned to Stacy smiling. ‘Now this is the Dad I know. Stacy this is the Dad you would be ending up with but don’t let him marry you off.’

‘Kate don’t scare her off.’

She ignored her dad. ‘I wouldn’t be here to save you so you better set the records straight with him before he ruins your life like he did to mine.’

Kate said while Wilson just searched her eyes for answers he couldn’t keep forming in his head.

‘What is taking Mom so long to get down? ‘Kate hissed and adjusted herself widely on the couch occupying the whole couch. ‘Gosh I miss the comfort of this couch.’ She said and sprung up.

‘So, this girl is still running her mouth out here too.’ Catherine said coming down the stairs and Kate who got startled earlier opened her mouth but words failed her.

‘No, I was just talking mom.’

‘Kate you got to stop this attitude.’

‘But mom i…..’

‘Where did I go wrong with you because I did everything right alone.’ Catherine said ignoring her daughter.

‘Maybe because you raised me up alone.’ She said rolling her eyes towards her Dad.

‘I’m talking and she still got the guts to talk back.’ Catherine frowned and walked closer now. Stacy, feel at home and you what do I owe this visit.’

She said sitting beside Kate.

‘Why is Jane and Andy not behind bars? I hope Dad you are not planning on pushing this under the bus because your mom is involved.’ Kate couldn’t help but ask.

‘No one is trying to defend Jane here but if we do that innocent Stacy would be found guilty as well.’ Catherine just had to speak up for her husband.

‘Mom, why is he not talking himself. He should answer me.’ Kate asked staring at him for an answer.

‘I know your resentment towards my mom but kindly be patience, my lawyer is working on Stacy’s issue then we can proceed.’ He said stammering.

‘You mean that betrayer of a lawyer.’

‘Don’t call him that Kate.’ Her Dad cautioned.

‘Dad he was the reason why I’m in this mess. And I understand from mom, Jane is not even your biological mother so why not give her up already Dad.’

‘I know that but your sister won’t survive a second in jail.’

‘Trust me I have your beloved daughter here covered.’ She said smiling to Stacy who was almost near tears.

‘Kate what are you talking about?’ Catherine who was silence after Kate kept ranting about Jane finally asked. Something is wrong with her daughter she thought.

‘Mom I have a contact here; you guys can have a look at it. If you agree then we can proceed with the arrest of Jane and Andy, whiles Matt’s works on something else.’

‘Let me see that.’ Catherine quickly grabbed the envelope from her daughter and went to sit beside Wilson.

‘Take your time and read while Stacy and I would grab something from the kitchen.’

Kate stood up holding the couch down and Stacy supporting while Wilson murmured take it easy and quickly focused on the envelope.

She missed her mom’s meals. Kate went around looking for something edible and she finally found it.

‘Kate get in here now!’ Catherine yelled out to Kate who just dipped her hand in her mom’s sauce chewing on the last meat, while Stacy looked on smiling.

She quickly swallowed the chunk of meat and wiped her mouth childishly while walking away.

‘Miss, you haven’t washed your hand and you could get choked up without water. Stacy said and Kate paused in her steps.

‘Aargh,’ she feigned and walked down to wash her hands.

‘Here,’ Stacy handed her a glass of water while smiling.

‘Stacy you are a good sister.’ She gulped down a little and rushed out while Stacy followed shaking her head.

‘Mom why were you yelling!’ She asked when she got there.

‘You need to explain this.’ Catherine asked raising the document to her direction.

‘Mom don’t be mad. I spoke with Matts and that’s the only way out of this for Stacy for now until she figures the rest out. Kate clarified.

‘So, you mean to tell me, you pleading guilty for Stacy’s crimes in your condition will help ease the pain I’m already going through. Catherine blurted out and Stacy shouted.

‘WHAT’! Miss, you can’t do that. I should pay for my crimes. I believe when I plead guilty I would be given a few years.’ Stacy said sadly.

‘Really, you think life behind bars is easy and you stand there running your mouth.’ Kate said furiously and turned to her mom.

‘Mom, I would just get house arrest because of my condition, that’s why I did the transfer of ownership in her name, though I still got half shares.’ Kate said trying to make sense while her Dad looked on confused.

‘Kate you can’t do that, no offense to you Stacy. I liked you the first day Kate introduced you as her P. A but I just can’t watch my only joy sacrifice herself. There must be another way.’ She complained.

Mom there isn’t for now. Probably Matt’s would come up with something and we don’t even need to make use of this contract.’

‘And Wilson why are you silence on this matter. I hope you are not supporting this idea.’ Catherine yelled out to him.

‘I’m not sure Kate wants me involving myself in her issues.’ Wilson said to defend his silence.

‘Wilson, this is not a matter of Kate’s decision, if she didn’t need help, she wouldn’t come here in the first place and i know my daughter very well. She needs help.’

Wilson sighed heavily and adjusted himself with his head on the couch.

‘Kate can I be honest with you both. I mean you and your mom.’ He asked and Kate nodded her head. She feared whatever might come out of her mouth would just make her mom angry.

‘Wilson, she’s your daughter so you don’t need to ask permission.’ Catherine cautioned.

‘Before I say anything, is there a different reason why you would want to go that extent for someone who has wronged you in so many ways. Because I don’t get why you would just give up on yourself.’ Wilson asked.

Dad in case you haven’t noticed, I’m not heartless or selfish like you. If you hadn’t gone sleeping around with everything, I’m sure I wouldn’t have to do this.

‘Young lady, watch your mouth!’ He cautioned and looked at Stacy who wasn’t able to raise up her head all this while.

‘Dad, what I’m saying is even if I had different reasons, I still want to be of help.’ Kate said and her mom flared up.

‘That’s enough you two. Do whatever you want to and tell Matts to see me when you get home.’ Catherine said and relaxed on the couch.

‘Okay supper mom.’ Kate teased.

‘Stacy have a seat, you look scared.’ Catherine said to release the tension. They kept discussing for a while and Kate asked to leave.

‘Would you guys stay for a while?’ Wilson asked.

‘No.’

‘Kate allow your sister to talk for herself.’ Her mom said and turned to Stacy.

‘Emmm, i have to drive my boss home and then head back to work.’

‘Your sister, not boss.’ Her dad cautioned.

‘Okay Sir.’ She responded and Kate waved her to follow her outside.

‘Behave yourself and i will let you know when we are ready to make the arrest.’ Catherine said and hugged her daughter tightly and didn’t want to let go.

‘Mom, I could give birth now if you don’t let me go, and I ate the last meat in the sauce. Thought you should know.’ Kate said and Catherine released her instantly.

‘That’s your dad’s lunch young lady.’ Catherine said and they both laughed.

It took both mother and daughter a while before they let go of each other.

‘Pearl, you keep calling me and I don’t get it.’ Nectar said once she opened the door to pearl’s apartment that afternoon.

‘Saint forgive me but I don’t feel well. Looks like something is wrong with this pregnancy and you have completely ignored my needs.’ Pearl cried out to Nectar.

‘Even my wife doesn’t give me this much problems. It was her first time as well but she handles herself pretty well.’ He snarled. ‘Now what is the problem, you can’t handle.’ Nectar said and walked closer checking her out.

‘I can’t keep anything down and I find it difficult sleeping at night. When will you spend the night with me again because i also deserve that care you give to your wife every night.’ Pearl said frowning with pain.

‘You are not serious Pearl.’ He examined her and realized she was telling the truth. ‘Now pin your buttocks somewhere and let me check you out.’ Nectar said and she obeyed like a baby.

‘Is my baby going to be alright?’

‘Did you contact Sly as I asked you to.’ He asked Pearl who was looking at him seductively.

‘I don’t want the same doctor as your wife. I want you attending to me yourself because i like your gentle touch.’ Pearl said licking her lips.

‘That won’t happen Pearl, I understand you are doing me a favor by not telling my wife about this baby but I need you to be healthy as well.’

‘So, you care now?’ She teased even in her pain.

‘Not that I really care that much but I’m having a child with you, that alone means something to me.’

‘Then let me be yours Saint, for just this once. You run out of here the last time as if you’ve never seen a naked woman before but this is the same body you rush to when you had issues.’
Pearl said stripping naked.

‘Gosh pearl! Put that on.’ Nectar said turning around.

‘Why can’t you look at me?’ I’m I not attractive anymore?’ She asked.

‘I didn’t say that Pearl, my point is I can’t love you anymore.’

‘Why can’t you Glover?’

‘You knew i couldn’t continue my relationship with you and you even helped get the woman I love now so why don’t you do me a favor and clothe yourself.’

Pearl, with tears in her eyes walked closer and hugged him behind.

‘Please make love to me this once, Saint and I would be out of your life.’ She held on tight and smiled through her tears. ‘Just this once and I would disappear with this baby or I could get rid of it like I did for you when Keisha was here.’ Pearl said grabbing Nectar’s attention.

‘What did you say and when were you pregnant for me?’ Pearl’s face was pale and she didn’t know where to start from.

‘I’m asking you a question and you better answer me before I lose it.’ Nectar asked now turning around to face her, with the anger in his eyes he has overlooked the fact that he couldn’t control himself earlier.

‘Okay, when Keisha was three months into her pregnancy.’ She replied honestly.

‘And you didn’t tell me because?’

‘If I had would you have left your wife for me?’ She asked him and he just looked on angrily. ‘No Saint! I did the best I thought of at that time because i didn’t want to ever be a single mother.’
She cried out while smooching his groin.

‘You better take your hands off me.’ Nectar yelled. ‘What you did is unforgivable because you decided for me what I should do with my own blood.’

‘That was the only option back then Glover.’

‘Pearl you took something from me and I don’t think I want to continue seeing you. Just let me know when you give birth.’

He said and pushed her hands which were giving him all the pleasures at that moment, if not for the revelation earlier he may not be able to handle her $eduction.
He thought for a while, looked back at the crying Pearl and rushed out.

‘Jane, that plan won’t work! Are you sure that Pearl is even pregnant.’ Andy asked Jane who came home earlier after meeting out with pearl.

‘I don’t think she would lie to me; besides she gave me evidence of their first night together and besides Wilson mentioned some blackmail of these pictures but I had no idea she was the one.’

‘I guess everything is falling in place for us.’ Andy stressed.

‘Yes, I thought I was the only one who had it out for Kate.’ Jane muttered while Andy’s mind went far away on the pictures.

‘Let me see those pictures again.’ Andy asked.

Jane handed him the envelope and smiled. ‘Perfect picture.’

‘Damn, I miss this body! Looks more attractive now and those days were fun.’

‘Don’t let those pictures change our focus.’ She cautioned sternly.

‘That body has endured a lot of spankings.’ He said and licked his lips.

‘You are officially out of your mind Andy.’

‘Trust me your granddaughter had it all.’ Andy was saying and Jane just shut him up.

‘Give me those pictures.’ She grabbed them and walked out on him.

Kate entered their room yawning while Nectar was already in relaxing on the bed.

‘How did it go Kate?’ He asked and Kate couldn’t hide her surprised face.

‘I thought you were not talking to me for days now. What changed Nectar?’ Kate queried naively. ‘ Or you want something?’ Nectar finally rolled his eyes to meet her gaze.

‘Oh, that’s it then! What do you want this time around?’ She asked.

‘Kate do we have to be strangers because you are too stubborn to listen to your heart and I know you just don’t want to admit to the fact that you want me.’

‘You are full of yourself right now.’

‘That’s fine Kate but don’t blame me when I get my needs elsewhere.’ Nectar said and relaxed back on the bed backing her.

As if she wasn’t bothered at all, she just stared though with regrets and just shrugged.

‘I have more issues on my head, not this lovers quarrel so if you want sex just say it and stop making my life difficult.’

She murmured to herself and began to ransack her side box for her medical bag.

Nectar grinned for a while and stopped when he heard his name.

‘Nectar I know it’s you? Where’s my medicine bag?’ She asked while walking towards him on the couch.

‘I took it, do you have a problem with that?’ Nectar asked.

‘Yes, I do because I’m the pregnant one here and should be in charge of my own medicine so you don’t get to decide for me because you are a doctor.’ She murmured now facing Nectar sitting comfortably on the couch.

‘I’m still your husband, the last time I checked and what’s wrong if I need to check on your health.’ He asked.

‘I don’t know what you hope to find in there but may I have it now since it looks like you are done.’ She asked politely.

‘I gave it to Matt’s so ask her for it.’ He said giving up. Kate hissed and tried walking away when he held her back.

Kate struggled for a bit but his warm arms around her gave her some sort of comfort. She didn’t want to admit she was on her way to giving out herself for the last time in her marriage. She thought for a while.

‘Nectar I’m tired please.’

‘I know that Kate but I promise to be gentle so just turn around.’ He said softly in her ears.

Kate was in his arms indecisive for a while and thought what could she loose when she’s not even sure she would be there the next minute.
