Zaka has ruled Kuvi kingdom for just 5years, within the years of his reign, terrible things started happening in the land, in his first three years, things went real bad, the rivers and oceans where gradually drying up, the land was no longer producing crops like it use to and their livestock started dying,

Things they have never experienced in Kuvi started happening, they believed that the gods were not happy with them, they tried everything to appease the gods but nothing changed,

king Zume, who was on his dying bed called him and begged him to leave the throne and allow the gods to choose a king For themselves, he pleaded with Zaka not to allow him to dye unhappy knowing well that his people are suffering because of his son’s pride,

Zaka refuse to listen to anybody,

Zaka was enjoying is kingship, ruling and punishes anybody that disobeyed his orders or opposes him,

The people of Kuvi kingdom knew that the gods were not happy with Zaka because he was not the right person to the throne, but Zaka will deal with anyone who says such.

Zuba got married to Arini , the Black Smith daughter and they were blessed with kids,

Zuny was done with his engineering school and was already practicing, he opened big companies in Kuvi kingdom and employed lots of staffs, he was doing well for himself but the land was dry and it affected everybody in Kuvi including him,

Zuny was loving and compassionate just like his mother, he always seek advice from his mother in anything he does knowing well his mother’s words has being the pillar of his life.

Duni called Zaka pleading with him to step down

“the gods are angry Zaka, I have never witness anything like this…kuvi kingdom is a basket full of food, our land is rich and produces anything you throw into it, our livestock reproduces every year, our rivers supply water to the earth we cultivate in, other kingdoms comes to Kuvi to trade, people becomes rich ones they step into Kuvi kingdom, and now Zaka my son…take a walk down the farmlands and the river side, things have practically gone bad…people are dying of hunger and drought, the gods are punishing us for what we did, Zaka step down from the throne and let the gods choose their own, this is an evidence that they are not happy with you and kuvi people generally, please Zaka before they start striking us down one after the other, I input this king thing in you for years, seeing you rule back then was my joy, i wanted to be “king’s mother” but I don’t want anything again I just want to live my remaining live in this land happy, seeing you rule now is my pain because I caused it all, and the gods have not chosen you Zaka.. Listen to your mother, looking at you…you are only king because of the fame that comes with it, consider kuvi kingdom and step down…i beg of you Zaka…

“hahaha…mother you sound as if you are not enjoying the fame too, being called the king’s mother is actually a great title, isn’t it what you have always wanted, to hell with the gods’ I will rule until my old age just like father and i will pass it to my son, if the so called gods didn’t choose me who then did they pick, is it Zuba who has moved on with his life, married with two kids or Zuny who is creating jobs for the youths and living his own live, stop bothering me mother..please leave and let me be..

Oche knew that if Zaka could step down and allow the gods to make their pick everything will be restored to normal, Zaka has become very arrogant and she try not to interfere in his kingship,

As each day comes things went worse,

the gods were angry with Zaka For insulting them they struck him down from the throne one-day as he mounted on it, he fell and became dumb and paralyzed, he couldn’t do anything on his own again, he started wishing he has listened to his mother’s constant pleads for him to leave the throne and also his father.

After a year of an empty throne the gods later choose Zuny to be king, it was surprising for everyone as the gods picked the youngest of the boys to rule over them, Oche encourage a reluctant Zuny to go ahead, immediately he was crowned a king, things began to go back to normal.

The river started flowing, and just within a year of his reign things gradually went back to normal, just as it was during King Zume reign, Zaka gradually started talking and started walking too, he has learnt his lesson never to contend with the gods, Zaka later got married to one of the maiden, a commoner and she bore him children,

Old king Zume was happy as he finally breathed his last and was buried according to the rites, their was a big celebration for him, they will miss him, he was a loving king and people of Kuvi kingdom knew that Zuny will follow the father’s step.

Oche choose a wife for Zuny, she was who the gods delights in, Oria was her name and she was also royal, a humble and beautiful princess.

The kingdom was restored back, everyone was happy, king Zuny was going to rule with the wisdom of the elders of the land and also with the help of Oche, his mother,

he never expected to be king since he is the least among his brothers but he was ready to answer the gods call to rule.

“Long live king Zuny and long live Kuvi kingdom..” as the people who joyfully gathered for the first harvest festival of the year hailed king Zuny.
