MY DAUGHTER EPISODE 5

I take responsibility for my mistakes, my name may not be working for me now but i know someday it will, my daughter was the joy and fulfilment I had, she was a happy loving child, I thank God everyday for her, even though her father never appreciated her, it doesn’t matter to me, she’s my top most important person on earth,

Me returning back to school have to be on hold for now because of my pregnancy, nobody knows yet, people will judge me if they find out but nobody has any right to judge me until they have walked in my shoes, and when that person that they so much desire to be with knock on their door and they are able to shut the door to the person’s face without any regrets or emotion attached then they can judge me, I didn’t choose what happened to me, yes I could have avoided somethings but sometimes it’s hard to say no, when life throws a lemon at you, pick it up and turn it into a lemonade.

I hard that Chief Emeka wasn’t well, he had stroke and they flew him out, Lolo his wife and Obinna took over his business fully.

The bad news came that somebody set father’s warehouse on fire, father uncured debt, he closed 4 of his shops down and the Two remaining was not going well, things are turning sour for us, mother was always supportive, she always tell father not to think too much that everything will be fine, I need to start doing something to be able to support, but how can i, when I’m with another child growing in me, I can’t even add this to my parents predicaments, it weighed me down, I stopped meeting with Obinna, whenever he comes i muster courage to say no to his surprise, he stopped coming for sometime, my kid sister just got into school and she needs support too, it was just me and Ebunoluwa in the house, she’s such a chatter box, no dull moment with her, my daughter was just all i needed to be happy.

I begged Obinna for money to start something since I can’t depend totally on my parents, he surprised me by sending a huge amount to me, I was wow! After he sent the money following day he came and wanted to touch me but I turned him down again, I was feeling proud of myself already for being able to say no and stand by it.

“Ibukun, why don’t you allow me touch you, don’t you know you belong to me? I suppose to have you anytime I so desires, why are you forming hard to get…mmmh?

“tell me Obi, how do i belong to you, so you think you are irresistible, you think i can’t say no to you? having a child for you doesn’t give you room to claim me like some pieces of furniture, I have wise up and grow thick shell…

“hahahaha, Ibukun, you live in a house my Dad rent for you, you practically belong to me, I just sent five hundred thousand to you yesterday, just to show you i can have whatever i want, money is not a problem, so i can have you anytime I so desires, my wife is not in the country and i will soon go and join her in the state Hahahah, until she gives birth to my son, but for the main time I will have you anytime I want, all this while you have being saying no to me i keep wondering where your guts came from, i thought it was about money because your family are heading to thick poverty since the major source of income which is your father’s warehouse has turned to ashes and immediately you asked for money I wired into your account without delay and sending you that huge amount I was suppose not to even ask you before you give it to me but here we are again, what’s wrong with you…

“you are so arrogant, rich spoilt kid, you think money is everything, money can buy anything, how stupid can you be, you see me as your prostitute to use anytime you want, and your wife is the real charming woman you treat with respect just because her family has money, my father is going through alot and you never cared, how i miss Chief, I know it was somebody that set my father’s warehouse on fire, if Chief was around such wouldn’t have happened, for years my father has being in that place and Chief was in charge no body ever complains of lost, now Chief is in abroad for treatment and the little time he was away, things were in you and your mothers care so many things are going wrong, what kind of person are you, if i know you were such a bad news i wouldn’t have had anything to do with you, I will hav…

That was the sound of the beating he was giving me, I fought back, and i fought hard, when i saw he was too strong for me and my pregnancy was at stake, I was begging him to stop, I curved and covered my stomach,my daughter was watching and was crying so loud, she later started shouting, “mummy, when he wouldn’t stop despite my plea i told him i was pregnant for him and he will hurt the unborn child, he got more angry and sad he will help me abort the child since I’m senseless, my little girl who was watching she couldn’t take it anymore and ran to him with her little shoe, hitting his leg to leave me alone when she saw that the shoe wasn’t doing anything good she bends down and bite him hard, on his leg he screamed and kick my Ebunoluwa, she fell and hit her head hard on the glass center table, blood splashed,

her scream ceased, I quickly rushed to her, screaming and shouting, her breath was so slow, I lifted her to my body, my nose was bleeding I didn’t care, all that mattered to me was my precious daughter, Obinna on seeing what was going on, brought water to spray on her, still nothing happened, I was shouting for him to take us to the hospital that was 30 minute drive from my place.

He drove us to the hospital in less than 15minute, he was speeding I was shouting my daughters name, when we got there, the doctors took her to the emergency room, I was left outside with Obinna, pacing up and down with my blood and daughters blood all over me, praying fervently for a miracle on Ebunoluwa, my sweet precious daughter that came to my rescue but the beast in form of a man kicked my little angel.. Obinna just stood there, I can see that he looked like someone that’s sorry, but he will be real sorry if anything happens to my daughter, I was praying so hard for God to have mercy, just when i was about to loose my patient the doctor came out, you can tell from his expression that something was wrong, my heart was beating fast, my leg shaking as i double step to meet him, he said we should come to his office, I told him to tell me what was going on, he saw that i wasn’t going anywhere until he tells me about my daughter, that was when he broke the news i regretted hearing, “I’m so Sorry’ we tried our best but she….she couldn’t make it, she was already dead on arrival….

I wish he hadn’t said anything at all, he kept talking I couldn’t hear anything again, I slumped to the ground, i wanted to die too, I fainted, every where was darkened, I thought i was already dead at least to be with my Ebunoluwa.
