Mummy’s girl

God has really answered my prayer.

My mum never came to the house empty handed. The mother and daughter bond was very tight.

I went to evening services with her most of the times.

During one of the services, she announced to the congregation that she would be traveling for a week. I felt sad. I cried my heart out. I didn’t want her out of my sight.

My father, the pastor realised it and asked that my mum go with me if that wouldn’t be a bother, but my mum said no. Her reason being that there would be no one to serve him. I understood it and decided to stay back.

I needed to stay back and keep the compound clean and make the place worthy to welcome the numerous visitors who trooped the house each day.

The time was finally here for my mum to leave us. She gave me enough money to run the house in her absence. She also introduced me to her customers so that I wouldn’t go buying things which were not good for the kitchen.

She finally left to wherever she was going. I was home alone with my dad.

I was not comfortable living alone with him but as time went on, it moved smoothly.

He loved me like his own though he had no child of his.

Daddy’s little angel

It was not easy leaving alone with him but as time went on, it moved smoothly.

He loved me like his own though he had no child of his.

Those moments were the happiest for me. I wasn’t expecting that.

I had the privilege of eating at the dinning table and eating any food of my choice. He was really a man of God.

He never left the house without checking on me and he made sure to get me biscuit on his return. I was more than a daughter.

I finally forgot about my parents. I’m sure God had His own reasons for allowing my parents to be killed. I wouldn’t have gotten all these privileges if they were to be alive.

This home was indescribable. Remember the money mum left behind? That was to buy some food stuffs for the house. I listed all the things I would need for the kitchen with the help of my father.

Early the next day, I decided to go and get the foodstuffs. I informed my father but he told me to wait so he drops me off at the market. I felt happy within.

I sat at the front seat and enjoyed the cool breeze from the air condition.

We talked of soo many things that got me laughing.

When we got to the market, he stopped me from getting down. He rather took the list away from me and gave it to one of our church members to get the things while I sat comfortably in the car.

We left for the house after the things had been bought.

Home alone with daddy

We left for the house after the things had been bought.

It’s been four days since mum left and I wasn’t feeling her absence. After all, my father was there for me.

He was over pampering me. He stopped me from sweeping the compound and asked the security man to be doing that.

Guess now I can sleep and wake up any time of my choice since he only takes plain lipton as breakfast. He had water and a heater in his room so that was not a bother.

I was taught how to use the remote to control the television. I could now enjoy watching series of my choice.

I sometimes found myself watching it with my father, who would also take the pain to explain some things to me.

The father and daughter bond grew soo strong. I could relax in the sofa and put my head on his lap as we watched television together.

During one of these times, the Women’s Movement leader came to see us. I got up and left them in the hall to enjoy their conversation.

The look on the face of this woman wasn’t welcoming enough when I greeted her. I asked if I could serve her some water but she refused.

I’m sure her burden was more than enough. She may be going through worst things, I mean for her to even reject water from the mission house. She spent few minutes there and left.

I went back to join my father, but this time round to have bible discussion.

I appreciated the good works of God as my dad took his time to teach me about the wonderful nature of God.

unexpected arrival

I appreciated the good works of God as my dad took his time to teach me about the wonderful nature of God.

There was a heavy knock on the door very early in the morning. The voice was very strong and unfamiliar. Who could that be?

She was yelling.

I rushed out to check who the fellow was.

“Awww mummy, welcome”, I said still feeling sleepy. That was unexpected. She was to return the next two days.

She acted in a very weird way. That was soo much unlike of her.

She pushed me aside as if we had a grudge before she left. I couldn’t even get the chance to touch her bag.

Agh….well, sure she had a bad time on her way here. I went back to my room to continue my journey.

“Aboagyewaa! Aboagyewaa! You better come and clean up the kitchen before I open up my eyes”…..

I hurriedly went out to put the whole place in order. I didn’t want to incur her wrath.

I still wondered what the issue was. Who at all had stepped on her toes? Those questions were left unanswered.

I didn’t feel that kind of motherly love anymore.

My days in the house seemed more like numbered.

I soon turned into a maid servant and thrown out of my room. I was sleeping at the garage.

My happy moments turned into nightmares as my dresses were collected from me.

Those moments I used to sit at the dinning hall were all over. I wished I saw it coming, I would have stored most of the food for future use.

God, what is happening? I grew lean within a limited number of days while I painted my face with eczema. I wasn’t getting enough time to sleep, talk less of bathing.
