Where is Mama?

By Kingsley Godstime

…Where is Mama…
.
The night crawled slowly
Looked like a terrified lad
Wandered into an unknown land
Approached by the wild breeze
Whistling here and there
Inaudible sounds I hear
The grasses paying obeisance
As if I was their lost son
I’m sick of these madness
I’m looking for Mama, I shouted
Something tells me mama is gone
Something tells me mama is here
If I had with me a piece of silence
I could have sold to those voices
Who’ll prepare delicious ofe nsala
And the mighty wraps of eba
Who will tell us moonlight tales
Of monkeys and tortoises race
Who will sing those sweet lullabies
To aunty Ifeoma new born baby
The moon and stars were your bosom friend
Should they come, what should we say
What will happen to our ofe nsala
And the big wraps of eba
What will happen to the moonlight tales
You tell us everyday
Are they all going to vanish into thin air
Somebody wake me up from this day mare
Somebody wake me up from this nightmare
Mama Mama
Hear our silent pleas

and come back to us…
